Weekly Member Interview Series #8 – Reverie

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview Reverie. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since March of 2014.

Now on to the interview!

Hi Reverie, what can you tell us about yourself?
Well I’m 22 and I currently am in college to become a teacher. I love movies and video games and I enjoy just talking to friends.

How has your time here at FP been? What do you like about the community?
My time here at FP has been interesting! I joined the party kind of late but have known several members through past forums. I like how the community tries to be a helpful one!

What can you tell us about Atrium?
Atrium is my baby basically. This project has been something I’ve been beyond excited for and the growth has been astonishing! Atrium is a place to come together and talk to all sorts of people! We not only have a general community, but we have advertising and little services as well. We even have resources (Zetaboards Themes, Renders, Avatars, Sigs). Atrium is a well rounded place in my opinion and I love the atmosphere we have created!

Are there any other projects you are currently working on?
Nope, Atrium is my only project right now! I really don’t think I could afford time for another forum due to also having a busy life as well.

I see that your forum, Atrium, has a thriving community. What were the most effective methods you used to gain members and posts?
Honestly it’s all about contacting old friends, making new friends, and just combining new with old to create a diverse community. Word of mouth has been amazing, but we’ve also had great friends who have helped us along the way that we are more than grateful for.

What advice do you have for members here on ForumPromotion who are new to administrating forums?
Do not give up on a project. Try sticking with one project as long as possible. I feel that many new admins are not sure of themselves so they feel the need to create multiple forums, in this case most of the forums die and they all become wasted time. Put all your effort into one and you can expect some great results!

What are your thoughts on ZetaBoards? Have you ever considered switching hosts?’
Zetaboards is one of the best free forum software! It has many pros while there are a few cons it is an overall enjoyable experience. I’ve considered using other hosts in the past but haven’t done so yet!

What would you suggest to improve Forum Promotion? It could be anything.
My suggestion would be to enforce more community participation. I feel as though most of the posting around the general forum (not the post exchanges and etc) are by staff members. It would be nice to see more of a community atmosphere while also keeping up the advertising and other sections.

What are your thoughts on the Forum Promotion Blog? What kind of articles are you interested in reading? Any suggestions?
I’ve actually never read many forum blogs. I would love to see tips for other advertising forums and such, I know there was a topic that once had some good ones though most are dead now. Or a topic such as “How to create an atmosphere” or something along those lines would be nice.

Is there anything else you would like to talk about during this interview?
I would just like to say thank you for asking to interview me, I appreciate it! I hope I could help in any way.

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like!

Weekly Member Interview Series #7 – Raees

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview Raees. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since October 26th, 2013.

Now on to the interview!

Hi Raees, what can you tell us about yourself?

Hello Joshua, first of all thanks for selecting me for this interview. To begin with my name is Raees Nazeer, a 15 year old and I am from Karnataka, India but I have been staying in Saudi Arabia for the past 8 years and will be returning to India next year after completing my 10th grade. I spend most of my time online actually its my only hobby. I am also a huge Cricket fan and never miss any matches of my favorite Team India. I also spend my time designing themes and other things online.

How has your time here at FP been, and what do you like about the community?

It has been a great time since I joined FP, its really wonderful place and I have got lots of inspiration in my online world from FP. I like the friendliness of the members of the community and always ready to help and the services which the forum provides like the Package & Reviews are just excellent.

Do you own any forums, and what can you tell us about them?

I have started my journey of making forums in 2012 since then I have made many forums though most of them were unsuccessful, I haven’t given up in making more. I am still trying my best and working hard to make a forum popular like FP. At the present my mine project is PromotionCurve.Net which is also a Promotion Forum like FP, I have just began it and everything is going good till now, hope I will be successful with it.

If you had the chance to do anything in the world, what would it be?

If I had that chance I would like to wipe poverty from this world and make this world a better place to live in. First I would like to snatch all the money from those corrupt politicians and officers.

If you had $25,000,000 what would you do?

Thats really huge amount I would use to achieve my above goals by spending on poor peoples and helping the world to be a better place and I would also like to invest some for sites and forums for making them wonderful.

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like!

Weekly Member Interview Series #6 – Jamie

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series! This week, we have decided to interview Jamie. Jamie has been a member of Forum Promotion since August 29th, 2010.

Before we get to the interview, the questions in bold type are questions asked by Joshua Farrell. The answers below them are Jamie’s answers to those questions.

Now on to the interview!

Hi Jamie, what can you tell us about yourself?

Hi there! I’m a twenty year old webmaster and tech lover from England. Monday to Friday I work at an IT company as part of a web development team, and in my free time I manage a couple of websites and projects of my own.

When I’m not sat behind a computer screen, I tend to spend my time shooting air rifles or at the pub. I’m a big sports fan and also love listening to music and watching films.

How has your time here at FP been, and what do you like about the community?

I’m been at ForumPromotion.net for over four years now, and it’s really helped give some of my projects a kick-start. There’s a strong community who in nine times out of ten are more than willing to help out another member which is essential with a community of this niche.

In my early days I always received support when I didn’t really know what I was doing, and it’s those early days that really matter in the webmaster world. Many will give up before they’ve even started, but when you have support from others who are patient with you it makes the experience and learning curve much more enjoyable. It’s this reason why I try to help others as much as possible, whether it be with knowledge or finances.

What can you tell us about The Blazon?

The Blazon is a little project I founded back in March 2014. I used to be Editor-in-Chief of a technology blog, but after the owner sold it on I realised I’d had enough of running a project but not having full control of it. This is why The Blazon was created, and I felt it would be more fun branching out to other topics rather than solely technology and the internet. This is why we now cover other niches such as entertainment (films, music, television), sports, world news, science as well as technology. This means it was a bit more refreshing for the team members and I as we weren’t writing the same things day in day out as we could change it up with a different topic if we wanted to.

Due to my limited free time, the website has suffered a little due to my lack of dedication, though I have recently sold one of my projects (FPS Forum) so that I can hopefully put some more time into it.

Do you own any other websites?

I own my personal blog/portfolio website JDAB.co.uk. This is rarely updated, but I occasionally write blog posts, as well as updating my current portfolio and domain names that I have for sale. I’m also Lead Administrator at a popular administrator forum called Admin Forums. I recently took management of the site to give it a new lease of life, and I’ve got lots of plans for the future for it.

What advice can you tell newer admins here at Forum Promotion, on what they could do to better?

Ask for help: Never be afraid to ask for help. There will always be people with more knowledge that you on topics to do with your website, so don’t be afraid to ask people. That’s why forums such as Forum Promotion and Admin Forums exist – they are communities designed for people to share knowledge.

Set aside some money: Yes, it’s possible to set up a website for free or a low amount, but if you want to succeed and grow, you will inevitably have to invest some cash. This may be for upgraded servers, designs or staff payments, but if you want to grow you eventually will have to inject cash.

I noticed you had previously been part of the Package Team. What can you tell us about what the Package Team does to help forum owners?

I’ve actually been part of the Package Team three times! The Package Team does a great job of boosting activity – though it’s only temporary, it does give your website a little boost which is often what can get your legacy members posting or commenting. It’s a fun team to be a part of too as you get to experience lots of different communities.

In the years that we had the older Content Team, and the current Editorial Team, what are the things you know that they did as part of their team?

I wasn’t really around in the days of the older Content Team, so I can’t comment on that. However, the new Content/Editorial Team seems to be putting in a high work rate which is exactly what’s needed – tips and guides for new members will prove a hit if done correctly.

Did you know you can write an article for the blog? If invited, would you like to write something about being a webmaster or a forum admin?

Sure – if I could have another day in the week! Time is limited these days!

If you had $25,000,000 what would you do?

I’d buy a nice house – not too big, mind. I modern style house with lots of parking space for all the cars I’d buy! I’d have a few Rolls Royce’s, a Nissan Skyline R34 and a Mercedes G-Wagen (to start with)! I’d still go to work Monday to Friday as I’d still want to live a relatively normal life. Of course I’d buy nice things like I mentioned above, but I love my job so why would I quit? I’d share my wealth with family and friends, as well as to charitable organisations.

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like!

Weekly Member Interview Series #5 – Sharon

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview Sharon. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since November 2013.

Now on to the interview!

Hi Sharon, what can you tell us about yourself?

Hi Joshua, I generally try to spend my time learning about other people rather than talk to about myself. However, in this case let me take the opportunity to say that I am turning 27 on the 18th this month (I like chocolate if you’d like to send me present! Lol) and I enjoy various hobbies that alternate with the seasons it feels like. 😉 My hobbies include: (but not limited to) traveling, photography, writing, reading, camping, cycling, eating, general forum dwelling, watching movies, and listening to music. Let me stop here as it’s starting to sound like a dating profile haha!

When you joined up at Forum Promotion, what was your goal with using us?

One of my members at my writing forum advised me to check out ForumPromotion.net – I logged on, requested a package, and was blown away by the quality of service. Never looked back since. 😉

What do you like about Forum Promotion?

From what I understand ForumPromotion has been around for YEARS and it shows how well everything is being done. System seems to run flawlessly regardless of the change in staff I can tell the dedicated ones keep the place running smoothly. I see too often in forums when staff members’ activity level is lowered the forum dies in activity as a whole. Even with staff changes activity level stays strong so in short, what I like about Forum Promotion is the activity level and members.

So, which services do you like using the most?

I genuinely enjoy the Review Services and Posting Packages. I love how thorough the staff members are with reviews. The quality of posts in the Posting Packages are also great. They truly set the bar high for other communities who try to mock ForumPromotion.net. Anything less than the quality that is provided here just doesn’t cut it – it’s not surprising to see why FP is so popular.

Which service would you like to make a suggestion on how they could do better?

I am truly happy with the services. The only thing I would encourage is when packagers post to end their posts with a question to entice further discussion. I’ve heard in the past from someone that they did not want to leave a question because they were afraid that responses would bring the discussion off topic. I believe however, if you ask the right question then the people responding SHOULD stay on topic and just add more to the discussion.

Did you know Forum Promotion is actually going to be getting a new theme? What would you suggest that could be added to the theme, to help make the place better?

I was reading about the possibility in one of the threads but I did not know that it’s actually happening. My only suggestion to not do anything too fancy that it slows down the loading time or anything. Keep it simple I say.

What can you tell us about your forums?

I’ve got several projects in the works. Instead of taking this opportunity to promote them here I will just ask you stay tuned with my signature as I will be updating it soon when they officially open to the public. 😉

As a forum owner, what can you tell us about how you managed to get the activity you have on your forums?

I find that being helpful and active in other forums has helped the activity in my own communities. People generally get curious about what you are involved in after you’ve helped them out. I also try to go for quality over quantity when it comes to posting in communities. I like feeling like when I have something to say that people may think “oh! That’s Sharon I wonder what she’s about to say”.

Is there any comments you would like to add to this interview?

I was hoping to have more enticing questions as this is what others have hinted that they wanted in future interviews. 😉 I would say throw in some whacky questions like “If you were to be stranded on an island what 3 members would you prefer to be stuck with you?” or… “If you could be any animal – which one would you be?”

I am honored that you chose me for this particular interview though. I enjoy reading about other members so hopefully I’ve been somewhat entertaining myself. My goal here at ForumPromotion is to become as helpful as others have been to me – if not more. Thanks. See you around!

And that wraps up this weeks interview! It was fun doing this interview with Sharon!

Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Weekly Member Interview Series #4 – TehPhantom

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview TehPhantom. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since 22 Jul 2009.

Now on to the interview!

Tell us a little about yourself.

My real name is Luigi. I am currently 17 years old, and I was born and raised in California, US. My birthday is on Feburary 20th. I am a senior in High School, and I have plans to go to a college. I have a older sister and a younger brother, so i’m the middle of the family, age-wise. I am also a gamer, coder, and a theme designer.

What brought you to Forum Promotion?

If I can remember, I was trying to promote my Wii forum (which didn’t last very long). When I was asking my friends where I should promote my forum, they said Forum Promotion. I wasn’t really active on FP until the second year, when I started participating in discussions, doing exchanges, getting help, .ect.

Do you own or are a staff member of a forum, website or blog? If so, please tell us about them!

I currently own a website, called 1ShotGG (http://1shotgg.com). 1ShotGG is a gaming and streaming community. We help promote channels, and provide discussions about streaming. We are also a gaming community (since streamers stream a lot of games) so we provide discussions for that as well. We have been around since January of 2014, and so far this is one of my most successful forum, because of its unique niche and content. We have over 10,000 posts, 1,000 gamers, and 600 channels promoted. We also have a custom MyBB Theme, and custom plugins.

In general, we are “Forum Promotion” for Twitch.TV broadcasters. I am looking forward interacting with our members.

As a member of Forum Promotion, what do you think is a good defining feature of the community in general?

The content that is posted everyday, and the variety of members around the forums, and the awesome friends I have met around the community. They are one of the reasons why I made 1ShotGG, and made it into a successful forum.

And What do you think is a good defining service feature that you enjoy here?

The package service, the exchange center, and the marketplace. I used those services to start up my forum.

If you had the ability to add one to two things to Forum Promotion, what would you add?

You should consider add a Youtube Promotion service. There aren’t a lot of Youtube Promotion forums out there, and there are a lot of people that want to run a successful channel, and need help in doing so.

Thank you for accepting to do an Interview. Is there any extra comments you would like to mention?

I just want to thank you for interviewing me for this FP blog. I am willing to answer more questions, just don’t ask personal questions please. I’m looking forward to seeing where FP goes. Again, thank you for interviewing me.

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like!

Weekly Member Interview #3 – Sarhad12

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview sarhad12. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since 19 Jan 2013.

Now on to the interview!

Tell us a little about yourself.

Well I’ve been nicknamed “Scarface” by my mates due to me being a fan of Al Pacino and I also have a “Scar” on my forehead which kind of lives up to the name. As far as my age is concern I stopped counting as soon as I hit my 20’s.

I have been living in uk for past 20 years and have been following Manutd football team throughout those 20 years (apart from David Moyes era).

Foruming is my part of my passion, hence I’m always active here on forum promotion.

Oh I forgot to mention I have son who just turned 2 and half, he loves the computer as much as I do. Here is clip of him on YouTube climbing a motorbike ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2JO-G_NZX4 ).

What brought you to Forum Promotion?

I was looking to promote one of my earlier entertainment website, and upon searching on google I came across few forums were I could promote my site, none of them were appealing to my eye apart from forum promotion which took me by surprise, from first instance.

Do you own or are a staff member of a forum, website or blog? If so, please tell us about them!

I currently have two forums, both are on different niches one being YouTube Topics ( http://yttopics.com ),which is completely dedicated to all youtubers. The main feature of it includes promoting YouTube channels, videos and to help YouTubers in gaining extra publicity.

The second forum is the “AdminAds” ( http://adminads.com ) which as the name suggests a promotion forum. Not another Promotion forum “yikes” I know I know, have you seen the movie dumb and dumber?

Jim carey asks “Whats the chances of pretty girl like you and me going on date”?

She replies one in “Million”, Jim Carey grins and says “So you are saying there is a chance”? And to be honest that’s the chance I’m willing to take and hope to get the members of this community to help me in achieving that chance.

“AdminAds” features are almost similar to whats on offer here on FP, slight changes will be introduced to have its own uniqueness.

As a member of Forum Promotion, what do you think is a good defining feature of the community in general?

I really enjoy the services that are offered here on forum promotion such as reviews and postings packages as well as constant updates of posts. And most of all I love the idea of the forum cash which saves us from spending real money to get services that we require.

And What do you think is a good defining service feature that you enjoy here?

Apart from the above, I enjoy the exchanges a lot. It helps me and the rest to build a community as whole.

If you had the ability to add one to two things to Forum Promotion, what would you add?

There has been lots of talk regards to changing theme, though I personally feel that a community as big as forum promotion should be thinking of moving towards XenForo. That way the community will grow further.

Also the PhpBB feels outdated and by changing to Xenforo it will give the extra “zing” a slightly Modern and much more “this” generation type feeling which is what we are missing on forum promotion.

Thank you for accepting to do an Interview. Is there any extra comments you would like to mention?

Not a problem and thank you for interviewing me! Also before I head off I’d like to congratulate you and forum promotion team for coming up with this interview section, it helps us to know each other in depth.

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading these every week that they are posted!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like!

Weekly Member Interviews #2 – Daniel

Hello, and welcome to the latest edition of our Weekly Member Interview Series!

This week, we have decided to interview Daniel. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since December 2008.

Now on to the interview!

Tell us a little about yourself.

Hello there, my name is Daniel, I am 21 and I am a fairly “normal” person. I work about 40 hours a week at an I.T. firm where I repair computers on a daily basis. I live on the west side of Michigan and have been living here for about 3 years now! I have been in the hobby of roaming forums for about 9 or 10 years now and to this day I do not remember what originally got me started on them.

I have been frequenting Forum Promotion since about 2009 off and on seeing lots of things change while myself as well was changing. I am a huge technology geek so if you ever want to have a discussion about some tech feel free to hit me up !

What brought you to Forum Promotion?

To be entirely honest with you I am not sure what originally brought me here, but I do remember that I joined back in 2009 to advertise an old promotion forum that my younger self had created and I have come back here to use FP’s services ever since.

Do you own or are a staff member of a forum, website or blog? If so, please tell us about them!

I currently own two websites of my own, one being my personal blog ( http://thisjournal.net ) which is basically where I go to blog about my day or whatever I so please to write about. Then I also have my current project which is a stem off of my old promotion forum back in 2009-2010 called Reliable Promotion ( http://reliablepromotion.com ) I just launched it towards the end of last month and things are going quite well it is a pretty nice place so come check us out!

As a member of Forum Promotion, what do you think is a good defining feature of the community in general?

As with every forum it has its flaws but I believe that FP has a whole has a fairly dedicated community that still backs it even after all these years!

And What do you think is a good defining service feature that you enjoy here?

Honestly, I believe that the best service feature of FP is the Package Service, they may be a service that has the most turnover in staff but the post quality that comes from the staff is generally very good.

If you had the ability to add one to two things to Forum Promotion, what would you add?

I honestly don’t think much more could be added.

Thank you for accepting to do an Interview. Is there any extra comments you would like to mention?

I just want to quickly thank Josh for the opportunity for this interview and I wish you all the best of days!

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading our new weekly interviews!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like you want to ask!

Weekly Member Interviews #1 – Theezy

Hello, and welcome to the newest edition of Forum Promotion’s Blog!

We will be starting a Weekly Member Interview Series, so that the membership can get to know different members of the community,

This week, we have decided to interview Theezy. This member has been a member of Forum Promotion since October 2007, and was a former member of the Community Team.

Now on to the interview!

Tell us a little about yourself.
I live in California, been there all my life. I just turned 30 and I’m just an average joe for the most part. I work 40 hours a week and in my free time I frequent the forum world. :P

What brought you to Forum Promotion (If you can remember)?
I believe I found this place through freeforums.org back when it was hosted there. Fowler used to frequent the support forum and I clicked his signature one day. The rest is history.

I noticed you used to be a staff member here at Forum Promotion, what team(s) were you part of?
I was on the community team.

Do you own or are a staff member of a forum, website or blog? If so, please tell us about them!
I own the Wober Discussion Community ( http://wober.net/ ) and I have been running that since 2009. In September we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! We have a number of regulars and new people trickle in every so often. I look forward to logging in everyday and interacting with the community. It’s a great place to be. :)

As a member of Forum Promotion, what do you think is a good feature that we have?
The package service is probably my favorite. They always do a fine job providing my members with interesting new topics to reply to whenever I happen to request a package.

If you had the ability to add one to two things to Forum Promotion, what would you add?
Not sure. Seems fine how it is.

Thank you for accepting to do an Interview. Is there any extra comments you would like to mention?
No prob bob, thanks for picking me. :)

And that wraps up this weeks interview! Thank you for reading this, we hope you will continue reading our new weekly interviews!

Feel free to comment below on the interview. Also, feel free to ask the person that got reviewed any questions you feel like you want to ask!
