Thanks for the announcement. Love the discussion questions you brought up.

Assuming you want us to chat about when we get the vaccine or our thoughts on it. I get the second Moderna vaccine on the 26th.

Congrats on receiving your first dose!

I’m surprised it’s 12 weeks gap between the two? I got mine a while ago (Pfizer) and get mine this weekend. (3 weeks apart).
Yeah the UK's approach is to vaccinate in mass the first 9 priority groups with a single dose and then give second doses 12 weeks later. This apparently allows more people to get partial protection.

I'm not fully sure it's the best approach considering it's outside of the provided timeframes for each vaccine type, but I guess we'll have to see if the risk was one worth taking.

Had mine yesterday and my other half the day before. We both work in social care so were prioritised that way! My other half has been feeling rough for the past couple of days and I’m carrying a headache. We had the AstraZeneca one.

I will be waiting until the Johns Johson one hits shelves. Not only it is a singular dose but also it only requires NORMAL refrigeration. So the risks of improper vac handling will only be as much as the seasonal flu ones. :)

As I live in Brazil, things are not easy. I can't get the vaccine before the end of this year, if not the next. During this period, vaccine is only for people working in hspitals, clinics and similars. Than, people over 60 years old will be vaccinated. Then teachers come: first, teachers that work offline in schools, then private teachers as me.

It's honestly not that extreme, in the US it's very similar (older, more at risk, first line workers, etc). I would assume the only thing that might be a little improved over this is the slight progression.

I hope my moher-in-law could get the vaccine. She is 79 and last years was at the point to die, because she got the coronavirus:doctor:. Thanks God she is still here.
It is very good news she is still here 👐

I hope the vaccine rollout in Brazil is faster than expected at the moment

I hope so, but here few things are fast. In the south of the Brazil, where the public health works very much better than elsewhere, I'm supposing it's faster than the rest of the country.

I really want to get vaccinated, the bad thing is that I'm too young to get my Covid shot because I'm not elderly. My grandmother and my mother have gotten their shots. I'd feel safe from all of this if I could get it sooner.

Got mine two weeks ago as I fell into the sixth group in the UK (One of our priority groups) which I wasn't expecting. At least it means I can have my second dose by the end of May so hopefully I can shoot out of this bloody country after ages trapped inside it. Greece or Spain beckons!
