Re: TechGeeks Forum (Nice active tech community)

I'm looking for feedback! Especially negative feedback! Give any reasons why people wouldn't want to join!

Check out our Theory of Knowledge section! This is something you won't find on other forums!
Hi, Techie.

I was unable to view the page whether logged out or in, and received this error message:

[#10333] We could not find the forum you were attempting to view.
I used your forum's search feature for a clue, and from that came across a topic wherein you mentioned a possible Theory of Knowledge sub-forum under Open Discussion, but I did not see this sub-forum in Open Discussion.

Re: TechGeeks Forum (Nice active tech community)

That is very interesting. It shouldn't be doing that. I just looked at the settings and everything looks normal. I'll have to continue looking for a solution.

Edit: It was set up in a way that you needed 25 posts to see it or post in it. This limit is now removed 🙂

I am happy to say I can see your "Theory of Knowledge" sub-forum now.

Yep 🙂 And I think I'm creating good topics there. I don't know why nobody is replying. I guess the community is getting weaker because some old members are leaving but no new members are joining.

We do have a Facebook page you can like! 🙂 It's pretty new but we won't spam you like some other companies on Facebook.

I'm joining. Any reason why it takes 30 posts to have a signature?

Because otherwise what happens is people register, they make an introduction topic, they make a signature with links, and then they never come back. I don't think they did anything to deserve that link and I don't think what they did contribute was of any value. If a person wants link juice they should actually contribute.

TechGeeks is a fabulous place to get links for it's size. Actually the only other forum where links get indexed as fast by Google and Yahoo when they're posted is a forum called EggXpert. I'm pretty certain the indexing of TechGeeks is faster than some other big forums. IDK about many other forums that are like that.

Infact in Google Webmaster Tools only 3 links from forumpromotion are reported.

How many indexed pages do you have? How much daily traffic?

Google shows just a bit over 4,000 sitewide.

I couldn't tell you visits on the forum just like that, but yesterday we got 383 visitors sitewide. The day before that it was 393. 259 were from Google.

I just want to put it out there that neither of the above have anything to do with search engines trusting or ranking your site. Some people think they do.

We are approaching 15,000 posts! Help us reach that goal!

Does someone think they can help us get to 15,000 posts before Valentine's Day? It's a pretty good goal but I think we can make it!

Activity is picking up! Check out some of the interesting threads. If nothing interests you and you don't want to sign up, tell me what would interest you so I can get on that! 😀

Any feedback on the site's design? Usability? Load speed? Anything?

We're nearing 15,000 posts! I think we can get there before the end of February!
