DARK MODE 2 for WordPress

Dark Mode 2 is a WordPress plugin that turns your WordPress dashboard into a beautiful dark grey and black colour replacing the
traditional white and light grey colour scheme the dashboard is known to have. The plugin allows users to enable and disable Dark Mode themselves by visiting their profile page.

Currently the block editor and classic editor are not supported, but they will be soon.

More features are also coming soon!

Thanks, it's something I'm very passionate about so I'm keen to hopefully drive this forward.
Have you submitted it to WP media sites like WP Tavern? I remember they posted about a dark mode plugin a while back, maybe they'd be interested in this one too.

I'm working on trying to market it more, it's pretty tough to be honest 😂 I've never been one for marketing. I just write the code hah.

I feel you on that. I do think you have a lot of potential to win the SEO game with this plugin, and I may have just found a lead for you.

When I searched "dark mode wordpress" I got this WPBeginner article:

In their tutorial they recommend this "dark mode" plugin:

...which, according to the most recent reviews, the authors just pulled a fake-out on their users and hijacked the plugin to be something else. So, WPBeginner's article is technically outdated, and as an authority—they hate to be out of date. Your move here is to contact them, fill them in on this situation and request they change the links out with a link to your Dark Mode 2 plugin.

Maybe get an affiliate program setup too. It's hard to get promotion for premium products from large WP outlets and you'll need everything you can to convince these guys.

Next, and here's where you can go bold—WP Tavern recently posted a series of articles about a similar controversy where another company acquired a popular plugin and did the same kind of fake-out on their users. You have an opportunity here to ride that wave of controversy—which got a lot of attention from the WP Tavern readers—and bring this story to their attention. Submit it as a tip and mention that you have your own Dark Mode plugin and any link back to your plugin would really help you as an independent plugin developer.

Strike while it's hot my friend. 😎

It's funny because the plugin you linked above, the one that switched what the plugin did for it's users was the plugin I originally made. I'm the original author of the Dark Mode plugin, hence Dark Mode 2 😏

But thanks for the advice, it'll definitely help in terms of navigating the premium plugin space. It's tricky to get going.

Plot twist. 😀 Sounds like you have everything under control.

Haha! Well I just need to focus on marketing but it's a tough one.

But yeah, the plugin is in safe (original) hands. I ended up not wanting to develop it further for free a few years ago and gave it to another community developer that wanted to continue it but it turns out multiple people had ownership until it was given to some WordPress development group that decided to make sue of the existing user base and try and sell a product to them instead.

But now I'm focused on bringing back that classic Dark Mode for people that won't stray from it's purpose!

I know a guy who runs a WordPress site, shame that I don't 😛 but he's on limit cash

I've been making updates to the plugin and more features are coming soon!

I recently added an 'auto' mode to copy your system preferences too ☺️

BUMP!

What would you like to see added to the plugin?

I'm thinking of remixing some popular themes into darker ones so you can have a fully dark experience.

Is this something you'd be interested in?
