FORUM ADVERTS REVIEW SUBMITTED BY SUBZ
Number Of Members: (10/10)
Forum Adverts currently has 242 members and you forum has been open about 10 weeks now. I think this is a great amount of members to have in such a small space of time. There is much I can say to improve this number as you seem to be promoting your site a lot and taking part in packages and member exchanges to gain new members. Well done.
Number Of Active Members: (6/10)
You have 242 members and you have 144 active members that have 10 or more posts, this is a decent number. I think you need to do more to keep your current members interested as I have noticed that 92 of your members have 5 or less posts and 25 of those members have not even made a single post, I think this is quite poor, you have a lot of active members but I would of expected you to have a lot more active members than you currently have, I would suggest;
• Adding new content
• Starting forum wide contests
• Reminding users about new or current things that may be happening on your forum
I think if you do this it will persuade your inactive members to come back and start or continue posting.
I agree
Number Of Posts (Spam or Otherwise): (9/10)
Forum Adverts has currently over seven thousand posts. This is great for a promotion Forum that has been open for less than three months. I would suggest requesting packages at different promotion forums as well as requesting a package at Forum promotion. You should check out our list of Promotion Forums that we have in this topic as that would help you gain more posts for your forums.
I do but those forums are useless and unreliable usually.
Appearance (First Impressions):(8/20)
You template is light and very easy on the eyes there is a few things with the template which I don’t like and could be improved o changed at that is;
• The forum logo should be the same width as the forum, there is white spaces either side of the logo and it doesn’t look very professional in my opinion.
The logo isn't very good and doesn't go, I have asked for a new one
• The banner Adverts that you have under the navigation doesn’t look very good at it placed on the left and the banner is quite big. I would suggest having your adverts in the centre and having the dimensions set at a max of 468x60 pixels.
I don't know how to centre it but i might change the size as you suggested.
• The forum icons are abit big, they just look out of place, and I would try and shrink them down a bit or find smaller ones. They do fit the forum sections well though. good find there.
I want to make them clear, they are 48x48, people might struggle to make out what they were if they 32x32.
• The Affiliate links in the footer should really be the same size, I would generally only accept a size of 88x31 pixels, otherwise the images would look weird in my opinion if they were all different sizes.
I know agreed I can't sort that. I'll remove the button.
Layout: (6/20)
I think the layout of the forums is ok here is a few suggestions I would make to improve the layout of the forums;
• Move Forum Discussion into the off topic area, as it is all by its self and could really be placed in there, you would save space and your members and staff would have less scrolling in my opinion.
Agreed, will do today.
• I would create a services category and move all your service forums into that category as the advertising and more category looks a bit clogged up and would split up the different services and advertising options you offer.
• I would move the exchanges and main advertising into the advertising or services category so you would have less category but more forums in each category and I think it will make your forum more organised.
You are suggestions i should cut down on number of categories? Ok, I will create 1 forum under services called exchanges with 3 subforums if that's a good idea.
Moderation:(5/10)
Your Staff team currently consists of 13 staff members and they are broken down like this;
• 1 Administrator
• 3 Forum Reviewers
• 4 Global Moderators
• 2 Graphic Staff
• 3 Package Staff
I think that this is quite a lot of staff for your forum. I think that this is too many staff considering that apart from the package Staff the rest of your staff team are global moderators. I think you could cut the staff team in half and your forum would still be well moderated in my opinion.
Your forum is well moderated but as I said above I don’t think you need as much staff as you currently have.
I think the amounts are fine.
Activity:(7/10)
During the past hour I was online reviewing your forum I could see 3 or 4 users on in the time I was reviewing your forum. During peak hours I have seen your forum reach 10+ members online so I think the activity of your forums is ok. I would suggest constantly adding new content and features to keep all your members interested and want to come and visit your forum several times a day.
Spelling and Grammar(10/10)
I think the spelling and grammar on Forum Adverts is at quite a high standard, your users and staff members have improved on their spelling and grammar from when I was staff there. There is nothing you need to improve here, just keep it up.
Overall Mark(61/100):
I have given Forum Adverts an overall mark of 61% which is a decent score in my opinion, I feel that if you take my suggestions and ideas on board that I have discussed in this review you forum will have gained a lot more members, posts and people will view Forum Adverts as one of the Promotion Forums they should go to advertise and their forum and get involved with your forum and want to support your forum by making good quality posts.
Please come and request a review next month so we can see what changes you have made to Forum Adverts.
