Thank god Japan is generally more prepared for earth quakes than other countries. Still hoping for people to make it through, never been in an earthquake but I heard it's terrifying.

My uncle knew someone that died in Japan who was on a business meeting.

I would have hate knowing that I am the other side of the globe and I have a relative in Japan and I phone them to check if there ok, and just that feeling when theres no answer.

[Oh God!] Massive Earthquakes in Japan

For now, there have been TWO massive earthquakes in last 5 years. It's something terrible because it's happening too fast.

One earthquake caused the tsunami and there are A LOT of nuclear power-plants in Japan - it can be the next 'Chernobyl'!
There are many minor earthquakes, but lately there was ANOTHER massive earthquake (smaller than the first one).
By the way, the first earthquake was the BIGGEST earthquake EVER in Japan's history.

It's truly tragic what happened in Japan. An 8.8 quake is phenomenal, and my thoughts are with everyone in Japan. There was also a tsunami that hit Hawaii pretty hard, and even made it to the western coast of the U.S.
