Okay, so I got an idea. When you go to say a basketball tournament, you see sponsors. What type of an event on a forum we could do to get just that 1 time specific event?

If your forum is busy enough you might be able to get sponsors for prize contests or for events like;

Site of the month
Member of the month
Post / thread of the month, etc.
