What I mean by short name is a nickname for the site instead of saying out the entire name.
For example, the short name for Forum Promotion is FP. My Talk Mental Health sites short name is TMH.
Does your site have a short name and if so, do you try to market that short name as part of your site’s brand? What is your sites name and its corresponding acronym/short name?
I will often refer to my movie message board as 2HUCT instead of the full "2 Hours Until Closing Time", which I also happened to coin a number of years ago/several when I had the idea of this board but never actually went through with it - only making it and opening it Last November. It is something I will continue to brand my forum with in photoshop on various stock images of popcorn and movie related themes.
EDIT: I have also just initialized my Transformers message board as "TTF" and have done since the beginning, using it on branding or on logos.
My husband helped me come up with my forum's name & it was on purpose how it was made into an acronym. 🙂 Saying HOST just is a lot easier than saying the whole name lol
My forums name is Forum Fun Zone and FFZ for short and I even have the three letters as the URL. I guess for me, I like shorting the name because of the URLs being shorter and easier for people to remember. Plus, it seems cleaner and sounds cooler when said aloud.
