I've been reading older posts and 2012 is something I've researched and can give you scientific terms regarding the future of our planet.

Here is a post that really made me decide to make a post to refute the claims that 2012 will mean anything outside of another 9-5 work day.

Actually, it has been confirmed that something will happen on 21st December 2012. Some believe it will be a spiritual beginning, others believe it will be the end. Who knows what these poles shifting and the planets arranging in order will do.

I would like to shed some light on these false ideas. First 12/21/12 is going to be a normal day for the planet. What stupid people do because of this doomsday prophecy might be the only thing that could bring an end to mankind.

Poleshifts happen all the time, they are slow and truthfully cause no harm.

The planets will not line up, actually they will be scattered all around the solar system. And even if they did line up that would mean nothing to astronomy. The only people who put any stock into the planets alignment are astrologers... you know the ones who write the horoscopes.

There is no mystery planet/Sun coming to hit Earth. If there was there is no way that it would be 3 years away from hitting this planet and not be seen. Anyone with a telescope or a decent pair of binoculars could see this thing. This story was made of up not by the Mayans, but by a lady named Nancy Lieder. She has claimed aliens speak to her telepathically and told her the planet was coming. As of spring 2009 we were supposed to be able to see Nibiru (according to her) with our naked eye... that never happened.

There is also talk about the Earth and sun being aligned with the center of the milky way galaxy. This is true, it happens every winter solstice so don't cha worry about a thing.

There is talk about our Sun moving into the center of the Milky Way which will cause a lot of changes and solar blasts that will incenerate th planet. First our solar system will always be about 30,000 light years from the center of the galaxy. And you know what, if we went to the middle there are more things to worry about than solar flares. How about the massive black hole in the center? Like most galaxies there is a black hole in ours as well and if we were three years away we would know it.

Solar flares are also happening. Our sun is on an 11 year cycle, and between 2011 and 2013 they are expecting a solar maximum which means more flares than normal. But this maximum happens every 11 years. The only real worries about solar flares are satellites, as our aptomosphere protects us from them. There can be power outages here on earth, but they are rare even in the strongest bombardment of flares.

As for the Mayan Calendar. They were brilliant people, and they have predicted many things (astrological mind you). But nowhere did they say the world was going to end. They actually have dates marked off long after Dec 21, 2012. I believe it was in the millenimum of the 4,000's. People say the Mayans predicted the rise of Hitler and all sorts of crazy stuff to bring more validity to the fear they are trying to bring to people. The Mayans were able to use their astounding understanding of the galaxy to predict many things, but not the end of our planet.

If I missed anything please remind me and I can tell you more about it. But don't spend your time worrying about the end of the world caused by an outside source. Worry about global warming, all of these nuculear weapons we have sitting in storage, and all of the other desctruction on this planet.

Wanna know what will happen in 2012?

NOTHING

people get annoying with this "something will happen but yet there is no proof, we're just guessing".

Whether or not there are 200 years left in the calendar or not does not mean there will be anything special about the date.

By then new stories will be made up about what will happen. It wasn't until the Mayan calendar was brought to national attention that these hoaxes, with no scientific merit, were magically associated with the Mayan long count calendar ending.

When a calendar comes to the end of a cycle, it just rolls over into the next cycle. Look at our calendar, every year 31 December is followed, not by the End of the World, but by 1 January. So 13.0.0.0.0 in the Mayan calendar will be followed by 0.0.0.0.1. And they are unsure whether the base 20 calendar stops at 13.0.0.0.0 or goes to 20.0.0.0.0 which adds a heck of a long time... around the year 8,000.

Hey. I'll sleep all that day. I won't know if I'm gone or not. Seriously. Nothing will happen. I've LMAO'd about this talk on every forum or site I read this on.

Well, I will admit that I don't fully believe the theories, but there are reasons to at least consider it. I mean, it's not a recently developed theory, it's been around for centuries and many different people (from many different generations) have predicted it. :/

Also, we have indeed been having crazy weather, wars, the economic crisis and other problems in recent times and there seems to be far too many to keep calling it a 'coincedence'.

But hey, all we can do is keep going with our lives. :/ Can't let fears of this thing stop us from doing stuff.

People have been predicting the end of the world for centuries... and funny how we are still kicking hundreds of years after we were supposedly to all die or something. I don't put much stock in these end of the word theories tbh.

And even if they were right, can you change anything? If no then why in the world should I care?

OP, I'm surprised you took the time to research all of that shit. The worst thing that'll happen is idiots who'll group suicide like they always do when another "doomsday" is coming.

"Scientific Terms," yeah right...

Yes, "all seeing one"

Since I'm not going to spend much time on this post, I'll make it a quicky...

Approaching the culmination of a 26,000 year evolutionary program, bringing the return of universal telepathy, heightened sense capacity, and self-reflective consciousness, this is a return to the sacred domain of our inner technology/knowledge, per the maya.

Thus the December 21, 2012 AD is not the day where all of the sudden a light switch will flip on and everything will change, rather, we are NOW in the process of this transition from one World Age to the next. The changes are underway and will continue steadily accelerating as we head towards the culminating date!

Thats it for me, off to another post 😛

Do I worry about this - gosh no - do I even think about this - gosh no - do I give a toss about this - no.

What will be will be and if it happens none of us will care ...... we will all be dust.

Yes mankind has survived a pole shift, at least primitive man. And evolution continued after that so it must not have been an extinction. Pole shifts are gradual things that take over 5,000 years to complete. To survive them we, as a species, would have to do like any other and migrate to warmer climate.

Saruman, you speak entirely of prophecy and religion. I never debated any sort of religious aspects that surround 2012, in fact, I left them out on purpose. Anything regarding religion is based on each individual and their personal god(s). It is impossible to debate what a deity will do, this was just made as a fear releiver based on the science of our universe. Is there a planet 3 years on a trajectory to hit us?? No. Could a deity sling one at us on Dec 21, 2012 like playing marbles? Sure.

I refuse to debate religious prophecy, it is as futile as those who debate the existence of any sort of deity. It just ends up in a "prove that it's real" vs "prove that it's not real" type of argument. In the end all it does is split hairs and you either put some stock into it or you don't. But thank you for taking the time to write out a bit about the more phrophetic side of what people believe 2012 to mean. Next time though, could you leave out the heckling? It is quite rude, and aimed at one who did not disregard any type of religious aspects in which you made a point of posting about.

It's a maybe, maybe not fact. For now nobody really knows if this is going to happen or not. I think we shouldn't care about it. Just enjoy your life until 2012. 🙂

If it happens it happens, if it doesn't then the people who said this is the end would feel pretty stupid

Nothing is going to happen on 12/21/12, and believe it will be mankind's greatest day.

Whoa. I just realized that it's 122112.

Cool, only 2 numbers.

2012. 50/50 Maybe will be the end of the world!
And now a new movie called 2012..LOL!

It won't happen. Mayen calender is based an a repeating system from my understanding, they just stopped having it repeating that year.

You know what happens after the end of the Mayan cycle (specifically in 2012)? A new one begins. If there were any ancient mayans around today, they would tell you the same thing.

Exactly!

They believed in cycles and precession of cycles, which brought forth "higher" knowledge than the previous.

What gets me though, is that many of the ancient civilizations that preceeded them spoke of the same exact thing, a "great cycle."

Like I mentioned before...

Maya
Hopi
Egyptians
Kabbalists
Essenes
Qero elders of Peru
Navajo
Cherokee
Apache
Iroquois confederacy
Dogon Tribe
Aborigines

All have legends and manuscripts, depicting a..."new age" or "time of 'increassed knowledge'" that would come at the end of this latest cycle, the most important one to date.

I could make more indepth threads/writeups about this but wouldn't want anything "unexpected" to happen to my work. 😉
