Allowing members to only post one thread per day in a forum

There is a mod for vBulletin that allows you to set a restriction so that members can only start x number of new threads per day in a specific forum section. Unfortunately the mod is not working 100% and it is no longer supported by the developer.

Do you know if this is a feature provided by other forum software, with or without a mod?

Thanks for that sambling, it looks like a good mod. Spammers will often join forums and post lots of new threads on their first day, a mod like that would be a useful way to control them.

I wonder do other forum software products have similar mods or features?

Most of them seem to be outdated from what I can see. I suppose the reasons why you want the mod- to stop spammers- can be controlled with something like Akismet. Thus those mods haven't been updated.

sambling I'm surprised that more forums don't provide that functionality to help control spam and also to help enforce rules such as "only one thread per member in this section per week".
