Hey guys.

Due to my last forum Admin Empire really NOT attracting much interest I am thinking about starting up a forum that will probably attract more interest.

PromoteBB.com

I swear someone already had that registered and was advertising it on this very forum.
But I checked with 123-reg. The domain PromoteBB.com (and all other TLDs) are available for registration.

Before I set this forum up and buy the domain, I'd like some professional advice on how I can make it work this time round. Coz I evidently made a mistake with Admin Empire by advertising it on FP when it had no members and no posts up. 😛

But I need members to make posts. I can make a certain amount of posts but I can't sit there all day posting topics. I have other things to do. LOL! 😛

Any ideas how I can make this work, if I were to go ahead with this? 😉

If you're not dedicated then why start it up? You will need to do a few topics beforehand before you even think of getting it working.

Do some exchanges like I do. Get them to PM for the link that way it's less likely to be found by public members.

Mhmm....okay.

I am dedicated. I'm just very busy. 😕
Obviously I will post a few starter topics.
But how many per forum?
How many initial topics would I need?

Also, PromoteBB.com would be a promotion forum.
A place where people could advertise their websites and forums.
It will be a place to promote everything, not just forums. 🙂

Then again, why would people promote there when it doesn't get much traffic.
i.e. how would I get the forum to start off, if you get me? 😕

UPDATE: I've registered the domain.
Am hosting the site with my own web hosting company, Noble Cloud. 😀 😀

Please, though, any advice is much appreciated.
I'm new to running forums. I may have been running websites for a while.
But I am fairly new to forums. 😉

The thing is in order to have a successful forum now days you need to have the time to dedicate to it. Creating a new forum is like going against the grain. You have to dedicate tons of time and if you are busy then it is very hard to get it off the ground unless you have a huge source of cash to keep it going.

As for how many topics per board you should make really depends on your activity, ability to keep the community involved, and how well you can attract new users.
