Are hybrid laptop/tablets worth it?

Do you think it is worth it to get a hybrid tablet/laptop computer like Lenovo Yoga vs cheaper laptops and tablets?

I'm not sure if tablet/laptop hybrid are worth it since I probably be more happy with a lighter and cheaper tablet like the iPad Mini or Nexus 7, and I don't have much use for a laptop because I only use my computer at home where I use a desktop because I prefer desktop keyboard, and mouse, and a bigger screen.

I don't trust Dell's safety record because there are Dell laptops which explode or catch on fire according to news stories I read or watched on TV and YouTube.
