I think it might be easier to get more views on a video blog video posted on YouTube, and all the other popular video sharing sites, social networks and your own site then to get a huge readership for a single blog post on a new blog.

Ray William Johnson might not be as popular if he were to write a blog about weird viral videos on a blogspot blog compared to posting a video blog of himself on YouTube, and other sites talking about weird viral video.

YouTube and video sites also have related videos, search, and a bigger community which might be looking for a category of video logs.

Yes they are easier to get views on, because people these days are more into the glittering effects of blogs. Not text, but fortunately regular blogs still get wide attention from a community like us.

I agree, many online visitors prefer the cool effects, editing, and lighting found in video rather then poetic language found in some blog post.

I prefer reading when a blog post is under 1000 words, and is a topic I am interested in but I prefer video when I am looking for entertainment like viral videos of a cat walking on two legs, or review videos for games, gadgets, and household items.

Thankfully, there are still blog top sites, blog search engines, and communities on blogging to promote blogs, so it is easier to find interesting bloggers who don't just write sponsored posts.

Going with the example provided I think having a blog with the view and links to the viral videos could go as well. In this case, reading of videos will want me to see them, so having them already e,bedded would be a breeze.

Another video that are interesting are the video reviews, however I prefer the written stuff. It is easier to scroll up and down to find the part you are interested into. Games review could improve in that, offering a pause before starting so you choose the 'chapter' you are interested into.

I think both mediums you need more than luck or simply erect your spaot and have success. You need writing skills and charisma. You need good video editing skills and voice. You need to know how to move around, and you need to be creative. many things that are trend right now are not necessarily masterpieces or never seen before stuff, they just gave ita twist in a creative way to make it fresh.

Videos are a popular trend. And it's simple to make money. Videos are viral. People share them from one another. I love watching them and spend my time with music and all kind of videos.

Personally I hate video blogs.
Most of which would be video tutorial blogs!
