There are people who can't stay in the dark. It scares them to death. They even sleep with light just to make sure whenever they open their eyes, they will see light. Their anxiety with darkness can freak you out with how they behave.
Have you lived with such people? How do you manage to cope with them?
Never really have had issues with the dark. Though mainly have lived with people who are afraid of constantly walking into stuff. Granted I still have family old enough to not be afraid of the dark, yet they are, because of past issues that they never really got over.
I remember when I was a kid, I used to be scared of the dark and would always need a night light but now, I tend to prefer to sleep in the dark and can't settle properly with a light on now.
One thing I have noticed though is how I always used to leave my bedroom door slightly open when our cat Smokey was around before she passed and even now I still do that after she has gone, sometimes without even realizing.
I was never afraid of being in the dark right from my childhood. We lived in a place where electricity wasn't steady. So, I grew up getting very used to being in the dark. I was molded in darkness. It's not like those who adopted darkness now by being comfortable to sleep in it. I was literally in darkness all through. It was part of me and I, part of it.
Yes, I am scared of the dark.
I thought I would grow out of that fear but I never did. If I turn the lights off in my room, I always have my TV on just so there is some light.
Usually, I leave my LED lights on throughout the night when I sleep.
