I'm satisfied with the current Fair Use policy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fair_use it is not perfect, but a better choice then SOPA which would make Fair Use not as important or exist anymore.
I love how attempted murder is a smaller crime than downloading music, wouldn't surprise me if child rape was legalized in the future to clear jails to make room for evil copyright law breakers lol I bet penn state would be happy.

lulz is dead and 4chan is not a hacker group. They have some script kiddies yes,but it is mainly an anime board with an awesome /b/ section.

I was told recently that the online petitions are a scam. Not sure how legit that is though.

Online Petition just ask for your e-mail, zipcode and name, and usually no other info like credit card numbers, or ask you to do tasks for cash.
I think people who say online petitions are scams may be confusing them with Paid surveys, paid to view e-mails, etc which promise high payouts (get rich quick) for doing surveys, but in reality you just get a few cents or dollars a month for hours of taking surveys, and referring a few people to join you.

I don't know exactly, from what I was told by a youtuber in California, he had heard on the local news in his area that the online petitions for those against SOPA were scams. He didn't elaborate more on it.

I think most TV news stations want people to support SOPA since TV news loses millions of dollars a year from people uploading their News stories to YouTube which means fewer people watch their channels and TV commercials during the News hour at 6 PM since they can just watch it commercial free on YouTube.
Strange that a YouTuber would be against Stop SOPA petitions by calling them scams unless he works for the local news since if SOPA passed, YouTube will need to delete a ton of videos which have songs, and video which are copyrighted in them to comply with SOPA.

I watched some news stories about the US congress is run by lobbyist who are paid by drug companies, entertainment, and multi-national companies to lobby for new laws which favor companies like Apple, GE, Ford, GM, etc, but sometimes don't help out the average folk.
I think even if SOPA does not pass, the lobbyist will still try to use their lobbying power to make the internet more restrictive, and work in favor of Apple iTunes, and other paid content sellers.

From what I understand, companies like Apple are backing out of their opinion on SOPA.
