I never had money to invest until I reached 60 when Covid did me a favour insofar as it decimated my pension fund which caused me to panic, withdraw what was left and start investing rather successfully in the stock market. That in turn allowed me to increase my passion for buying, restoring and reselling vintage guitars.

The timing really was perfect but that was down to luck. I put most of it into tech shares mid 2020 which in a couple of cases gave me a return of around 1000% at the point of selling. That's good that you got in at the perfect timing. The stock market has been pretty rough this past year or so.
It's so good your professor emphasized personal finance. Most of my econ / finance professors taught academic economics and corporate finance, but no real world finance.I started seriously investing when I first started college, so I’d say 18 or 19. I had a professor my freshman year that really emphasized personal finance.
