I've been thinking lately that I should delete all of my forum's registered members that have only 0 posts. Almost 35% of the total registered board members have no posts at all, and I really believe that it makes the forum look bad. Plus, all of those usernames that have been taken won't be able to be used by potential members who want the usernames. So, today, I got this really cool idea to start having members pay some Forum Credits (which are forum points on my forum) to change their username. And an even better idea; I could auction off the usernames of registered members that have no posts. For each username that is purchased (with Forum Credits), the registered member who previously owned the username gets deleted (that's if the member doesn't have any posts.) Do you guys think that this is a pretty good idea for me to use on my forum? I think that it will also benefit the forum by cutting down on registered members that are taking up too much space on the forum by having 0 posts.
I think what agent ment was that they are just kind off a false addition, like you have 100 members, 20 members that are active and have made 10,000 posts, you would expect the whole community to be active, if you get me?
I just don't see how hundreds that are doing nothing but lying around can benefit the forum. What if there was a user who registered under the account 'sbfc' a long time ago, and then Sbfc (on this forum.. FP) decides to register on fancy ole' ForuMansion today. Then, when he tries registering, he finds out that his username has been taken by a member that registered a long, long time ago and that member has no posts whatsoever.
Oh, and not to mention all of the double-accounts that users have made with 0 posts; as well as all of the spammers' accounts.
