At first, looking at your blog felt weird to me. I read the about page which tells me what the site is about. It contains some punctuation and grammar errors, by the way--but, nothing too horrid. At any rate, I'm not a fan of the dark theme for this site. It seems depressing which is the exact opposite of what you are showing your readers.
For a blog, the site structure is sound. The menu is easy to see and navigate. I like the main slider on the homepage; how it shows different pictures from your trips really grabs my attention. The clocktower is awesome. The main page layout, as a whole, is excellent. It's not cluttered with a ton of information on the main page as most blogs are.
As I said before, I'm not a fan of the depressing gray and black of your blog. It's supposed to capture the beautiful memories of your families trips. The colors make me more depressed than anything else. If you are using Wordpress as your blogging software, I'd recommend World Traveler or Travel themes. Each one is unique and different. The first one goes into the dark, rustic, look and might work best for you. Just a few suggestions, though you don't have to use either as they're both paid. That said, I'm sure there are free themes out there that would better represent what you are trying to portray using your site.
I have to hand it to you straight. Your blog is original. Not many people post blogs about their families anymore, let alone about family vacations. I think you have a great thing going with this, and I'm hoping it works out. Traveling around the world and writing about it can be tedious and expensive. I hope that you are able to continue to travel, your family with you, and that you guys have an amazing time where you end up. The photos are awesome. I love the architecture in other parts of the world, so I found some of the articles and pictures intriguing.

Overall, if you change the theme to something less depressing and worthy of a site like yours, I think the blog can shine and stand out. There are millions of people who travel and, if you can market your site to those people, you'll be sure to find a good group of readers for your blog. Good luck.
