What is the difference between being alive and truly living? (in your opinion)

in my opinion

being alive means living life by surviving one day to look up at surviving another day.

truly alive means living to achieve your dream no matter how difficult the path is 🙂

or when your not born yet you are still alive but then you are so you are truly alive 😛

Just alive means at least being able to move around.

Truly alive means to do whatever you possibly can in your short life span. You don't know life until you see most if not all what it has to offer the way I see it.

Which means no one knows life

Maybe I should explain myself a little more.
You truly live when you do something you like, such as writing, or run around and see the sights around your region or maybe even some places in other parts of the world. Certain sports or physical activities are a plus. Canoeing is awesome, by the way.

i don't think that knowing life is what i will call being truly alive because doing whatever we can do will give us satisfaction that we did this & this while achieving what is our biggest dream will give give us not only true satisfaction but also true happiness that we lived to our own expectations 🙂

Yeah, achiveing dreams must feel nice, but I think some are impossible. In addition, thinking about what we achieved anyway could help us find that "true happiness".

just imagine that you have got a dream of writing a sci-fi novel ever since you are a child but due to certain family burdens or something you can't do it when there is time but when you have got time in old age you find time again and you start up writing it. so when your end will come nearer you will be happy that at least you tried to achieve your dream.

while on the other hand if you decided not to do it as you are old and may not know about today's sci-fi world then when your end will come near you will think over and over that what if i had tried ?

If you were to ask my husband that question he would tell you bluntly....we all take life for granted, it's only when you are presented with the fact that you might die in a few hours that you suddenly realise that you haven't yet truly lived. We know...it happened to him. 😉

I agree on all accouts. You at least have to try. You're pretty cool.

I think being alive is making everyday go by without any entertainment, no enjoyment, and no happiness.

Truly living is being happy. If your not happy, you don't have anything.

Being alive is having a beating heart.

Truly living is doing everything you can to live the happiest possible life.

Being alive is just living for the sake of living.

Truly living is living life to its fullest or at least being extremely happy with most things in your life like school, career, friends, family, etc.
