Any new smartphone should do the job. All MP3s now a days are all great quality, even the cheap ones. So shouldn't have too much trouble

How much do you want to spend?
I have a little ipod shuffle - http://www.apple.com/ipod-shuffle/ they cost $49
I use it for work and it holds about 400 - 500 songs. The battery usually lasts for a couple days without needing to be charged because its so basic and there is no screen draining the battery.
