What are some strategies for getting quality backlinks for a website / blog? I have a website where I offer web design services and also have a blog where I write about things related to Web Development. Other than writing quality content that gets organically linked to, are there any other good strategies for getting relevant, high quality backlinks back to my site?

There’s loads. One of the most effective ones are guest posts. Get some high ranking blogs linking to you. Although that is a challenge on its own. Especially for a new website/service.

So it’ll take some time to develop good backlinks.

Yes, that’s correct. Although guest posts isn’t technically the right word I’ve used.

Guest posts is usually when someone occasionally writes a blog post on your blog.

But it works both ways if you both run a blog. Contact other blog owners to exchange guest posts. Or contact them to write content linking to yours.

You can also link your site on reddit in discussions related to your content.

You can take the benefit of forum signatures and forum profile links. You can also post on blogs or blog sections on forums

The best way is to create content of the highest quality and value.

Solve the needs, wants, and pain points of your audience. Then, get it out in front of your audience so that they can consume the content.

It'll get shared, linked to, rank better on search, and be successful.

That’s correct. You can also build links on Reddit in subreddit’s that allow it, however, it’s best to read the rules of the subbreddit prior to posting links.

You can also build links on Tumblr as well.
