This is really scary. This seems to me the first major attack on a metro area in the US since 9/11. With the huge member base we have, I am sure that this may be affecting those living in the Boston area. My heart goes out to everyone (especially those who are members of FP) who resides in Boston, and my thoughts go out to those who were injured or killed by the bombs.

Horrible scenes, thoughts go out to all affected.

Sorry to hear this. 2 dead and over 20 injured. Thoughts go out to family and friends involved.

On this day make sure to think of those whose families have lost them to the evil that did this. And let this extract of a poem remind you of the aftermath that will come.
'In that pile of flesh, there wil be a man, who has a little daughter alone to grow up in this cruel dark world, and for years after she will sit on that doorstep waiting for “The best dad in the world” to come home. When she hears he had to die, she will scream, drop to the floor and cry. At school: “Whats wrong?”…. “My daddy died and now he’s gone.”'
-Part of an inspiring poem by a friend

My hearts go out to those that have been affected 🙁

Just really, really messed up. It's horrible that the person/people behind it are still out there.

I would just like to update (or rather, dislike to update) that the new totals are 3 dead and a whopping 141 injured.

My sister said she heard it was the Koreans, and it could be. Someone on the inside.

But it is awful. And the worse part is, this race was dedicated to Sandy Hook Shootings. I keep them all in mind.

I recently heard about this! It's a very tragic accident but the numbers of people that were affected could have been far worse, thank god that isn't the case. Condolences to all those effected by this.

This is terrible. My thoughts go out to all that have been affected.

This is absolutely scary. I have a friend that goes to Boston University and he was a block away probably a few minutes before the bombs had gone off.

Two duds were found around Boston too. It's a depressing event. Obama came out with a strong response and he is right. Whether Republican or Democrat, this is an attack on America and I can't wait to find out who did this.

Where were the duds? Do you know?

And Obama had a fantastic response. It will be interesting. This better not be like North Koreans.

Two different hotels I'm pretty sure.

I really don't think this is a foreign group. Might be domestic in nature.

This is shocking news indeed. I hope they find whoever was behind it and bring them to justice.

Ahh, the joys of knowing this is an American based forum (rather, a lot of the members are American)

There was a thread about this on Whirlpool - it's not half as serious as this one.

People from all over the world travelled to run and view the Boston Marathon. The attack was not just an attack on Boston, it was not just an attack on America, it was an attack on all people of the world.

I'm not sure what your point is, but Forum Promotion is an international community of forum owners and webmasters, we are not "American based".

My point is really simple: A vast majority of the member base are, more than likely, based in America. Hence this thread is a lot more serious than the 36 page WP thread I previously linked to.

Fact of the matter is that, regardless of the fact that people from all over the world competed, the crowd got bombed, not the people running the race.

So now, there'll be an enquiry, and they'll probably hold a hearing all so everyone thinks that they are safe again. But they aren't and we know it. You can have all the security measures in the world; someone, somewhere, will get past it.

The security issue is always going to be one in the modern age R44. It is the matter of learning as each attack happens to strengthen your defenses against possible future attacks.

Sad to see this go on honestly. People talk of world peace but every day, things like this go on and on. I feel bad for all who were affected by this event.

The newest update is 1 police officer Dead 1 in critical condition, As for the suspects 1 Dead 1 still on the lose.
Very sad news, hope they catch him soon.
