Do you think 'building forums solely for the purpose of making money from them', is a good way to make money online?

Nope, its one of the slowest ways. People aren't that inclined to just join a forum and post, whereas visiting a site is much more easier.

Once that site gets 100 000 visits per month, you can set up ads from BuySellAds etc. and people do see purpose in buying ads from there.

I'd imagine this to be really hard. Building a community is a hard thing to do.

People do this all the time. They called 'Made for Adsnese' sites and many people are successful in creating a blog, purely to stick ads on it...only updating it every now and then to put new content on.

If your objective is to make money online, I feel that there are much easier ways to do it than by building forums. Applying the same approach to blogs, affiliate sites or content sites would generate more money for in return for your time and investment, in my opinion.

I feel like if you want to make money from a site, you need to make something that people want to use, and usually making money isn't enough inspiration to accomplish that, but that is just me.

You really need to have good content on your forum (and possibly an attached website or blog) to really have an opportunity for revenue to be generated from your board. Members need to be active in your community and engaged with pin-pointed adverts that they would like to click on.

Creating forums solely for the reason of making money = a terrible community.

Yes it is a good way to make money online only if members are willing to join your forum, you have good content, more than a number of visits a day, high statistics, like the guy named Patrick something, he can gain bucks.

If you have enough time to write lots of good content or make videos and post them on your forum which a lot of people want to discuss about, you can be successful at making money from a forum.

This thing is clearely wrong that people are making forum for money, they make a forum to discuss the problem and some new thing come up with the discussion.

Yup. Loads of people do it.

I agree with this, however, it can take a hell lot of effort and time. But ya know, if you have the experience... why not?

Sometimes experience isn't enough. It could be the timing, where people don't want to donate, or click ads. Some sites may face a depression or just not receive activity for whatever reason.
