Call of duty: MW3

Eh I'm just tired with the fans of the series, not the games themselves. I don't enjoy the multiplayer much but the single player campaigns are fun romps. IMO they're perfect rentals due to the shortness of their campaigns. If they innovated with multiplayer I'd be more likely to buy them.

One, I'm not a fan, I don't even play xbox anymore 😛 It is a well made game. Two, you just don't have any creativity whatsoever

Yeah true that was pretty uncreative but I'm talking about COD here xD

MW3's campaign looks like its supposed to be good, if that's single-player footage. The best part about the series and cutscene effects is where they treat the player character like you are there, with nifty camera tricks. This helps you "get into their mind" so speaking and I think this is the reason why the campaigns have turned out so good and people still buy the games.

I mean, who doesn't want to blow up helicopters, dive below a flying, exploded car and be saved from the brink of death by a fellow ally?

(Plus this game doesn't look like it has so much emphasis on gore, which is good...)

Really, half life is exactly the same thing but well thought out and no one talks about that anymore.

That's exactly one of the reasons why CoD's campaigns are terrible; there's just gotta be big explosion or convoluted twist at every corner of the plot. After the success of the dramatic nuclear explosion in Modern Warfare they decided to take that moment and make something of that caliber happen every ten minutes in all of the following games. It's not exciting, just tiresome and desperate because they can't write an actual story.

I don't mind COD campaigns themselves. They've got as much substance as a Vin Diesel movie (read: none) but they're pretty good rentals for that.

They're basically one random disjointed action sequence after another for 5 hours when they end, and there's something that was at some point supposed to resemble a story mixed in there. Stupid fun, but still fun. Multiplayer is shite IMO though.
