Can someone be sued for cyber bullying!

Cyber bullying is a common scourge prevalent in social media, forums and the internet at large. Is it possible for one to press charges against another for cyber bullying given the anonymity of the internet.

in a workplace, you can.. You can get fired or if not worse

It's illegal in California. If a case is brought up and they have enough admissible evidence supporting said allegations it can go to criminal court and you can be fined and have to do time in prison. But in other states it just goes to civil court and you can get sued over it.
