Chattrbuzz

First and foremost, I like the design of the logo; it's simplistic yet it has a bit of differentiation with the "r". In addition, the forums are for the most part are organized, but I would change the "news" section on the top to emphasize its priority.

On the other hand, the color scheme kind of clashes with each other, notably the overall dominating blue, the dark blue forum statuses, and the pink and purple forum groups juxtaposed on the grey (or it might be from my eyes being bad 😛 ). Also, your background looks fine, however, it is a bit incoherent with the two navigation bars on the top and bottom. There isn't much flow between the two, it abruptly stops and begins in awkward places. Speaking of the navigation, I would realign the top navigation bar so that it's even with the forum container.

Furthermore, the forum statuses look a bit grainy and low quality. For each picture, what does the little corner nip on the bottom right denote?

Sorry if I sound harsh, hopefully you can see my perspective! 😀

I haven't fixed the theme yet because I am saving for a new premium theme. I switched the most important things to the top of the board.

What do you mean of the forum statuses? Can you post a screenshot?

First Impressions: (7 out of 10)
First thought on the styling of the forum site, very nice on the dark style for it...very readable and very easy on the eyes. Color chooses for the style is very modern looking, easy to make out on what
each forum is and dark gray background with blue on categories and blue for the forum links...very nicely done.

number%20of%20posts.png
Number of Posts & Members: (6 out of 10)
Number of posts: 4800+ Members: 200+ very good number of each for being online for over a year, meaning it is becoming a successful forum site and will continue to be one...keep racking in the posts and making that forum site looking amazing.

Keep up the good work on the registered member as well. The login and register could use a different color though.

activity.png
Activity Level: (8 out of 10)
Very active, I have look over some of the posts and a lot of good content within the posts of the site and looks really professional. Some of the replies give a lot of details in most areas of the site and very friendly with everyone else on the site.

site%20structure.png
Site Structure: (13 out of 20)
Can tell you are using MyBB a very good software to work with and very easy to construte a forum site from it. Very nicely done on the logo of the site and as I said before the colors are very easy on the eyes which is always a plus for me.

design%20quality.png
Design Quality: (15 out of 20)
Like I have said in posts above in this, this section I have nothing bad to say about it or give any advice on changing anything to the style, it looks awesome.

originality%2016x16.png
Originality: (10 out of 15)
As originality goes, it is not a half bad way of doing a general based forum with a dark style, as the group based forum option is a nice way to encourage members to upgraded in other groups to the site. As far as I can see, you have all the major forums and categories to the forum site.

spelling%20grammar%20professionalism.png
Spelling, Grammar & Professionalism: (14 out of 15)
I didn't see anything off on spelling or grammar and it looked all professional to the max for every post, I can't really say anything wrong with this on spelling, grammar and professionalism.

Thing you liked best about forum:I really like the logo to the site, it's very unique.
Thing you liked least about forum: The login and register buttons, they look out of place a bit.

Overall Mark: (73 out of 100)
Didn't really have anything bad to say about the site, it's a very well done site, and I hope one day it becomes a really big forum.

Thank you for the review! I never noticed the login and register buttons were a weird color but now that you mentioned it, I just checked and they are some weird green color. Thanks for telling me!

first%20impressions.png
First Impressions:
While visiting your forum for the first time, it seems very simple and professionally designed. Light grey and blue works well with my eyes which is a key thing for impressing guests. You do not want a guest or members going on your forum at midnight, and having a men in black wiping your memory moment. This first impression gave me the idea that your community is relaxed and professional at the same time. I want to note before going to a detailed review is that the forum's impression is great overall, but there are still a lot of room to impress people even more.

Good

number%20of%20posts.png
Number of Posts & Members:
I noticed that your forum opened 14 months ago which is fairly new compared to 4 or 5 years. You average about 292 posts a month and 17 members a month. I would like to inform you that each member posted about 24 posts out of 232 members. Of course, some members only posted some and others posted more. The awesome part is that the number of content is higher than the users who signed up. I will give you additional props because your niche is highly common and having that statistics is really amazing for being a little over a year old. Let's be honest, your statistics could be 50% lower than what I noticed.

Good

activity.png
Activity Level:
Your activity perspective on the other hand is a major concern. Try not to stress out that much because it is common for older forums. I would like to give you a good analogy with activity levels over time. When you put the seed of a plant we are excited to see it sprout and grow into such amazing things months to come. We take care of it and give it a lot of love for a while. Unfortunately, we get involved in new things and the plant does not get much attention or care. The plant will become weaker and wilt after a period of time. As webmasters, we tend to forget that websites are not like people at all. We do not take care of websites like babies and after a year they are free and do not need to be taken care of anymore. Assuming it is all grown up and does not need a parent anymore. This is false, so we need to take care of plants because they grow and always need a care giver to provide support and love. Eventually plants and things in life will die, but plants live longer if taken care of properly. Your activity lately has been low with a couple posts a day is not really active. Another concern is that only 5 members were online in the past 24 hours. Which is only 2% of the community, but we never expect 200 members to log in each day anyways. I hope you take my analogy into consideration and your forum is not dying, but at the beginning stages at this point. Always love your forum and you will see how much more it grows. 🙂

site%20structure.png
Site Structure:
Your structure works well like just any other MyBB forum software should. Also, it is outstanding you have what your community is about in the footer/index page. Guests should always have easy access to where they are and what they will go into as of joining. Your registration page is really special because not many forum owners enable the COPPA forms. You truly care about the safety of your users and want parental permission before any younger minors join your forum. Makes an excellent impression on parents and activist regarding internet safety. Overall, the structure is basic, but really professional at the same time. Your structure should be worked on some more as a creativity purpose, but you are set on the structure. Great job! 😀
Excellent

design%20quality.png
Design Quality:
The overall design of the forum is really simple and basic. The design is perfect because 40% of potential members will flee from websites being too complicated to use. That could of cost you 93 members if your design was complicated. Always remember, your members will be using your forum so it great to make it easy for them. I love how you use font awesome icons, it keeps your forum light and takes less bandwidth. I do not have much on the simple design, but try to be more creative and try new things. Ask your members what would they see in a different or an updated theme. It is their community as well. 🙂

originality%2016x16.png
Originality:
As you may have predicted on how I will give my review on this section, another general discussion niche! Your choice of niche is extremely common on the internet and you are completing with hundreds of forums just like yours. I recommend to create a unique and creative slogan to make a brand and help your members remember Chattrbuzz. People can easily forget about your forum and go to another one they can remember. This is simple and don't be scared to get some suggestions from your community our in Forum Promotion. We will be glad to help you out on a cool slogan! Also, try to make your boards unique. For example, my community is based on adventure and for a technology board I named it Futuristic island. It is totally up to you! You see how much original from hundreds of forum with Technology board and only a couple with Futuristic island. You definitely need improvement to become more original and it can be done! As for my point of view, there is no originality besides the domain name.

Very Poor

spelling%20grammar%20professionalism.png
Spelling, Grammar & Professionalism:
Overall with spelling and grammar, it looks great from a good skim to some staff and member generated posts. However, staff information, announcements, and updates lack some professionalism. Besides the T.O.S., you should be informative and put effort into announcements and updates. Remembers will see your content as serious and give a lot of credit that you took time to carefully provide information to your members. Not only being informative is reduce questions about the update when you can provide details on what they can do and where they can perform the updates. I believe you try to reduce the amount of writing and be a relaxed webmaster, but we should be completely honest. If people do not want to read, they will not even bother reading the shortest paragraph in the world. Show some much professionalism and it will benefit you in the future. 🙂

Thing you liked best about forum: Your site structure and consideration for user safety for minors.
Thing you liked least about forum: Your lack of originality especially for your niche.

I have scored your forum based on custom points and calculated into stars from all sections of the review. 2 stars indicates that your forum is not poor and it is not excellent either. This means you need improvement which is a wonderful thing. Thank you for requesting a review so I could have the honor to try to see any issues, and give some useful advice. I truly believe that taking my advice will make your forum even better for your community. Never be scared to ask for feedback or to see if you are doing something wrong. The site looks good and the logo is awesome, I just got my eyes on 2 CSS bugs:
1. Likes summary background color doesn't go with the dark theme and also the position is out of place IMO: http://s.cyb3r.me/21072016-001.png
Here's the modified CSS for you incase you don't know how:
Code:
.tyllist {
    background-color: transparent;
    border-top-style: none;
    border-bottom-style: none;
}
Also I suggest that you move the div to the bottom of the post_body div or inside post_meta div, check the image and decide yourself:
Bottom of the post_body: http://s.cyb3r.me/21072016-002.png
Inside post_meta: http://s.cyb3r.me/21072016-003.png

2. Thread separators (Stickies and Normal) also has a colors for a light theme not dark, here's the css for you:
Code:
.trow_sep {
    background: #333;
    color: #FFF;
    border-bottom: 1px solid #666;
    border-top: 1px solid #666;
}

Before: http://s.cyb3r.me/21072016-004.png
After: http://s.cyb3r.me/21072016-005.png

Other than that I really like how the forum is structured, everything looks clean and elegant. :great:

Thanks for being an outstanding community member of FP! I gave you a quick tip for point out on an error I surely miss (as I am not a graphic designer). Not only reviewers tend to help members with their sites, but members giving their feedback is just as important or even more important. Have a wonderful day and we really appreciate it! :nyan:
