Howdy everyone! I wanted to bring up something we've been discussing with team for a while now – a reset of our FP$ virtual currency system, along with some big improvements to our shop. Your feedback is super important to us, so we really want to hear what you think.

Why are we thinking about a reset?

FP$ Inflation:
Over time, our system has caused FP$ inflation, making things pretty pricey, especially for new folks. It's becoming a hurdle for new members, and that's not what we want.

Value Drop: The value of FP$ has gone down quite a bit. By resetting, we can bring back its worth and make credits something everyone wants again.

Keeping Things Sustainable: The cost to maintain our current FP$ system has shot up. A reset would help us set up a more sustainable model and reduce the financial load on the admin team.

So, what changes do we propose??

  • Advance Notice: We’re planning to announce the reset well ahead of time, aiming for January 2025. This will give everyone enough time to use up their existing FP$.
  • New Pricing Structure: After the reset, we want to introduce more affordable pricing for packages. This way, more people can enjoy our services, and we can attract new users.
  • Better Shop Content: We’re planning to pack more value into each package, making your FP$ go further and our offerings more competitive.
  • Earn Credits in Key Areas: You’ll earn credits by participating in forums where we need content the most, not in less valuable sections like games and intros. This should boost meaningful engagement.
  • Bulk Purchase Discounts: We want to offer discounts for bulk credit purchases, encouraging larger transactions and giving you better value.
  • Keep FP$ Exclusive: We’ll limit FP$ distribution to significant events and milestones. This way, FP$ stays valuable and encourages meaningful participation.
What Are the Benefits?

  • More Engagement: With better pricing and content, we hope you’ll find more value in participating and buying credits.
  • Sustainable Financial Model: Reduced payout requirements and increased revenue from credit purchases will ease the financial strain on the admin team.
  • Happier Community: Restoring the value of FP$ and offering better services should boost overall satisfaction and loyalty.

We really want to know what you think about this proposal. Please take a minute to let us know what you think.

  1. I fully support the FP$ reset and the proposed changes.
  2. I support the FP$ reset but have concerns about the proposed changes.
  3. I do not support the FP$ reset.
Thanks so much for your time and input!

If people hadn't used real money, it would be easier to figure this out 🙂

Maybe after the reset if someone can show proof they purchased FP$, the amount they purchased can be added back into their account (assuming they haven't spent it yet).

No decision has been made at the time of this message. However, discussions among admins have occurred, and more meetings will be scheduled in the upcoming days. Will your FP$ be reset to 0 or not? We don't have an answer for this yet.

I want to address those who have purchased FP$ from other users and not through official channels. I want to mention that FP is not obligated to pay you back for those purchases as we haven't benefited from those sales. Those transactions were made between you and the other benefactor. That's officially out of our hands.

However, If you purchased through our official channels and provided a receipt, we would ensure you see that you have those FP$ credits returned within reason.

That said, if we reset it back to 0, you will be given advanced notice - possibly a full year to get your credits spent and such.

I have found that I'm a bit opposed to resetting FP$ credits to 0. This opinion changed from what I previously thought. I originally wanted to reset it to 0, but after seeing all the feedback given in this thread, I now understand the importance of having your FP$ credits and what they bring to you; you folks have earned FP$ through site battles, exchanges, participating in community events, and more. Taking that away throws all your past efforts out the window.

If we were to reset your credits back to 0, we would be removing value and potentially harming your projects, and that's the last thing we want. Forum Promotion is about promoting your projects and websites and pushing you to success.

Maybe we should start coming together to open up new ideas to bring to the table for members to use FP$ to make members want to earn and spend, so much talk about reset or no reset getting us nowhere XD Then again we as members have no idea what the staff/admins have been talking about in the backend.

But wherever it sinks the boat doesn't change the fact what FP has to offer concerning its services, I mean maybe something along the lines that the website is fully ready to be built or shall be made for you as FP$ payment XD

I say we should think of new services to add that members like to see, trial and error...

Well, I've recently offered some graphics that members can commission with FP$ and the Admins are working on another service to be announced very soon.

I do agree with this sentiment. Through the years I have seen many 'pointless' user-user transactions for FP$, with people bulk purchasing the currency with no real goal or purpose for doing so. They seem to have bought it and never spent it.

There is a ton of really beneficial services that are available for FP$, and anyone sitting on a large amount of the currency right now, have many many avenues to spend this around the forum. Graphics for FP$ is a really good offer and if I owned a site I would really be utilising this. Keen to see what the new service will be 😉

Through the years you have seen...I'd love to know the name of your other account besides this and the Mills one that only signed up last year?

Yeah I signed up again in Oct 2023 and prior to that I believe it was 2022 on my old account.

So not around as many years as some, but seen a fair bit in that time lol

Is this because I did too much shopping in the FP Shop? 🤣

Kidding but I support the idea of a reset! Not much to do with the FP$ anyway.

Unsure if this was mentioned already but what about the packagers who received theirs for the months they did packages? 👀
