First Impressions:
Before I could get a proper look at your place I had a pop up covering the page and a redirect working in the background. Through the years, many people have learned to distrust and avoid sites that do this kind of thing. I think many of your potential users don't even stay to check what your site has to offer.

It is important that nothing in your site takes away the control from the user like that. Many will flee afraid a trojan or something harmful loads regardless how secure the adverts might be. Users with ad-blocker won't feel any of this, but that just means you are less likely to have people disabling it to help you.

The huge pop up with another advert is also a demotivating element. I find it more bearable but not something I'd feel okay to put on with often.

Pop-ups are annoying even when they come from the same site so if you can do without them it is even better. I would recommend that you only use pop-ups for things related to your site and only use them to convey important information. The less of the screen they take the better.

Advertisement scares aside, your site looks nice. It is simple to understand and the base seems firmly built. I think some CSS styling you could make it pop a bit more. It's look is so basic that it reminds me of old-school webpages.

I also wanted to commend you for the responsive design. I had to finish my review on mobile and your site adapted well to my screen resolution which is excellent.

Site Structure:
It is not often I go for a converter but your structure works really nicely as far as I can see.

I had no trouble locating whatever converter had on my head. The menu works by dividing the items into a few categories. I am surprised miscellaneous seems to have well-formed subsections, why not add those sub-categories as part of the main ones? They seem a bit too buried the way they currently are. Miscellaneous I think, works better for things that you just can't put together in categories. For example, putting the clothes and shoe ones into one category to deal with wearables and fashion stuff.

To be honest I don't think you need second menus for Math, text and the like, since if we click on them the page loads with all the subsections. If you axed those sub menus I would also recommend you changing the term 'miscellaneous' to "other", "more..." or something that entices browsing the category. Miscellaneous sounds more like a disorganised drawer we throw files into but dread to open knowing the contents have no relation among themselves. However, you actually have sub-categories in there.

I like that you have a search system and an alphabetic index. Out of the two, the search function works the best for me. I insert foot and it tells me what conversions are available that uses this kind of measurement. It wouldn't hurt to make it more prominent. For example, it would be great having it on the home page, directly inviting me to type what I am looking for.

Overall, I find the site's structure to be very complete.
Excellent

The thing you liked best about the site: One website for any kind of conversion you will ever need.
The thing you liked least about the site: The redirecting pop-ups adverts.

Overall Mark:

Your website seems pretty useful. It is fast to understand and load the pages, It is just the aggressive advertising what really is bringing it down. There is a lot of effort into it and I really hope more people will give it a chance. I hope this review could be of help.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I first visited your site, the first thing I noticed is that it gets straight to the point, it's clear what the website is there for and is easily navigated. Having said that the overall design is a little dated and could use some work which I will discuss bellow. Everything on the site works and there is nothing broken on the site. It is simple and easy to use.

DESIGN
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The design could use a lot of work, I mean this nicely! it is rather dated but does get the job done. the user experience is good and you can navigate very well. The site is very creative and different to other posted to this forum, it has a use which most sites do not which is what I like about your site.

I would recommend you look at current trends for websites, you will probably find that the site is very on trend with its flat design but it could use some work. I would recommend the site to be made full width, and you use HTML5 and CSS3 scripts. Your sit is very text heavy so I think having large images could help.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
CODE
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The code uses basic HTML and CSS, which has recently been replaced with HTML5 and CSS3, the difference between switching would mean that your site would be easily read by a search engine, as the new engines look for <header> tags and <nav> tags.

I would recommend making your site responsive, this replaces the code from being px's to % and em's if you need help see W3Schools for details. I am aware that you use wp for your site, I would look at updating WP and looking for a new theme that uses HTML5 and CSS3 codes.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
SUMMARY
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

In conclusion, you do have a very good site with great functionality, there are some minor things that will improve the overall look but there is nothing that is needed to make the site run faster. I have seen that you have minified everything which speeds up loading times. But overall a very good site, good luck with it.

the user experience is good and you can navigate very well.

How about menu on mouse hoover? I think there's much clicking... click unit, click volume, click convert... What if you put mouse on the Unit then on the right you get menu with Area, Volume, Temperature... then there you can click or enter value itself...

I use just Google and I like that approach: 13 m to in and I already got result... Here is a little bit too long while I reach it.
(I't just mine user experience. This is not professional review).

This was just about navigating, but I think next two tips would be much more useful to you and easier to implement:

1. Group all similar categories next to each other.
This is your list now:
  • Area Converter
  • Currency Converter
  • Digital Storage Converter
  • Fuel Consumption Converter
  • Length Converter
  • Mass Converter
  • Speed Converter
  • Temperature Converter
  • Time Converter
  • Volume Converter
You see how Area, Length and Volume are separated.
I would expect to see them all grouped together...

And then when you enter one of them there is total mess:

  • Centimeter
  • Foot
  • Inch
  • Kilometer
  • Meter
  • Mile
  • Millimeter
  • Nautical Mile
  • Yard
I would group them by system and also in ascending order:

  • Millimeter
  • Centimeter
  • Meter
  • Kilometer

  • Inch
  • Foot
  • Yard
  • Mile
  • Nautical Mile
Same goes to all other categories.

2. Put symbols next to each unit

You don't have defined what is what. When user convert inch to cm he doesn't know that cm is a symbol.
And that's important.

Or at least under unit:

Meter [m]
Second [s ]

@OES Thanks for your feedback!

I will implement at least some of your suggestions, for examples adding the symbols which are indeed missing.
About the way the categories and conversions are arranged, they are all sorted alphabetically. This is the way I decided people can find the converters more easily.
