When we decided to buy a new laptop, that’s when I got to know the costs at present which is pretty low compared a few years ago. Is the decreasing price of laptops due to the popularity of tablets? In my rough estimate among my circle, there are more tablet users than laptop users. Maybe that makes sense because a tablet costs only a fraction of the laptop. But if the laptop maker has the intention of competing with the tablet, that would be a disaster for them.
Building a PC is far cheaper than buying a pre-built. You could spend $1,200 on a PC and have a PC equally powerful to most $2,000-$3,000 pre-builts from Alienware.
As for laptop prices, no they are not dropping, honestly. I have paid close attention in fact they have been increasing in price. Between the more popular brands such as MSI, Asus and Alienware. I have seen prices skyrocket. Even more so with MSI since they are making laptops more convenient for PC builders so you can swap hardware inside a laptop.
Laptop's are generally not worth it. Just learn how to build a PC it isn't really that difficult to learn takes 1 hour and research and studying and anyone with at least a decent level of common sense could build a PC.
You actually make a good point! But esp gaming laptops. But i guess its because this laptop are undoubtedly the hardest to build and the chipset used in these sought of laptops are much more complicated than in desktops, because i mean they are made to fit in much smaller spaces. Hence they are costly.
I think it has a lot to do with tablets. A lot of people have them and prefer using them over a laptop. I'm one of the people that prefer my laptop but that's just me.
