I don't really care much about counters, Google pagerank and Alexa display widgets which displays the rank on a websites sidebar, or footer.
I find some counters kind of ugly.
Visitors who might care about counters, pagerank, and Alexa ranking in your sidebar or footer are probably advertisers, link exchanger, and people who want to boost their pagerank by posting their link on your forum.
I'm not too sure how many average visitors care about how much traffic or PR you have. Plus, some of those counters, PR and Alexa sidebar Widgets might slow down a website load time since they use javascript, php, images, etc to display the info on your sidebar.
