It's cool to see a website that started when I was only 11 years old still online to this day! Looks like your 23rd anniversary is just in a few days, congrats!
Thank you so much! Although ... I wouldn't exactly consider us "going strong". I got very, very sick in early 2023 and it's been really difficult since then. As a result, DaniWeb has taken a back seat to my health, and it's definitely showed. Unfortunately, if something doesn't change quickly, I don't know how we can continue paying our bills. I don't know what I can do at this point to breathe new life into it. I'm trying, but it's hard! I figured I'd check out Forum Promotion and see if you guys have any good suggestions.

You can try looking into advertising on your site, getting companies who want to throw their links around at a cheap rate?
I'm trying. I was diagnosed with an incurable form of cancer that has, unfortunately, been kicking my ass.
That reminds me: Years ago we had a popular directory, not too much unlike the one on FP, only it required a link back to DaniWeb in order to be listed. But I digress. My problem is in getting traffic and not with monetizing the traffic that we currently have. I took it down because Google decided that they frowned upon link exchanges and paid links, and we're on Google's radar because of how involved in the SEO industry I am (speaking at search conferences, etc.) I've been selling display and email ads on DaniWeb for many decades now, and have relationships with the top ad agencies (OMD, CMD, Universal McCann, etc.) that represent companies such as Intel, IBM, Microsoft, etc. Our problem is that we no longer have enough traffic to make us worth the time of all the advertisers that we have worked with in the past.

It sounds like you used to have some good networking connections, it's just that you aren't ready for them yet. We have some members here who have tried to get the word out about their sites on Reddit, but it's not something I'm familiar with.
You could also try to get some free PR. I hate to say play the cancer card, but people like to hear about real life situations and battles, and your battle to save yourself and your forum go hand in hand. People love reading about that stuff.
