Dead 9,000 Member forum?

It's not completely useless. If you know how, you could create a strong blacklist of bot IPs and usernames. This could go really well with a genuine forum, or could even be sold.

No don't delete it. If you are going to delete it PM me.

What's the point of keeping a forum that's probably infested with spam bots more than real posters. I don't think it'd be worth it in my opinion.

I want the spambot IPs, to be honest. I think I could put them to practical use.

Are you sure you want it for 35 FP$?
I'll send you the details if you really want the forum.

I'll bid $45FP. 😛

Just kidding, I'd advise deleting it.

I probably should. But I'd give it to Cosmic for free if he could make some use out of it.
All these months I've been puzzling why 26 members were joining every day.

I'll give it to Cosmic for free- I'll PM him.
He can always delete it, or at make use of it.

Why do you want the spambot IPs, Cosmic?
I am considering integrating a spambot IP blacklist with some of my software. This could be the start of the list.

There's an idea. I never even thought of that one! :great:

Eh, I can't find a way to get the IPs. If I had the DB I could get them all in a few moments. I'd just have to loop over all the users with 0 posts and put their IPs in a table. Sadly, I don't. I can't even find out how to get the IPs of members who haven't posted.

Actually, I don't really know how to do that either. I know different softwares work different ways as to find out someone's identity. The easiest way I can think of, only this wouuld be one at a time, however, would probably go to the ACP and go to Manage Users, and from there you should be able to type in the username and it should tell you what you need to know. That's the only way I know how to do it, but again, this is one user at a time. As for multiple users, I don't know.

It looks like they removed all IP functionality outside of posts on purpose to me.

Is it really no use?

If there's more bots than actual members, I'd have to say no. You're new site seems to be coming on good, though.

That's a shame.
And thank you 🙂

Oh, before I gave I gave the forum to Cosmic, I saw that stupid NetBoards have set the default no activation setting, and default no CAPTCHA or whatever it's called.
So I changed the defaults on, so no more bots could join.
I didn't even know that it was like that.
