Do you click if you see site in signatures on forums?

I am wondering how often people click if they see a site in signatures in forum posts.
Do you always click or sometimes click. Maybe you don't click at all.
How often do you click?

Never, I always turn signatures off because it’s distracting from the content that’s posted. It’s better if they’re hidden.

Very, very rarely if at all. I think my brain automatically ignores them just like it's learnt to do with advertising. I rarely look at forums with noisy themes for the same reason, they distract from the content.

I would have voted Never, but sometimes it's easier to click on a signature when I'm doing a Post Exchange with someone and I don't feel like hunting down my thread of exchanges to find the link.

Rarely but that's because I tend to actively seek them out when I want to randomly see other sites and what they're like. When I am actively making use of them then I click most of them usually even if I know the forum doesn't have a subject matter I care for because again, I'm curious what people are working on and even if something isn't for me I can still appreciate the work being put into it.

We all see signatures every day and most sites allow it 🙂 I also allow members to advertise their things in their signatures, I always wanted members to feel freer and not force so many rules on them otherwise they leave. Some signatures are eye-catching and so catching that they can distract me from the post 😛

My answer is that I See the signatures but I never really click on them, only time when I do click on the signatures is if I'm doing post/content posting and it's easy to click on their signatures if they have the site on their signatures. Nowadays most people use their signatures for advertisements XD

Do you think that my signature is very eye-catching and who likes it????

I voted 25% of the time. If it's eye-catching, I may check out the forum.
@Katrina I do that too, just click on the signature to get to a forum when I'm doing Exchanges.

I voted 25%, but it's likely far lower than that. I only click when it's something that truly interests me, otherwise it's white noise.

I personally never have, and it's really honestly just a way for the person with their forum/URL in their signature to gain (hopefully) positive backlinks and domain ranking status to their URL in question by pegging back off of the other website's ranking and score.

Regards as a moderator or site owner. @CMT just made his comment but it has come to me that moderator's and board staff should click on signatures links, even if they do not want to. See my point.. 😛

See if the link goes to the site and check if it is legit or not break rules. I myself do not even click on signatures on my own site, but I should see if the links aren't going to a pornography site LOL

So as an owner or staff do you as a member of staff click links in signatures?

That's actually good advice! I check my Affiliates every few months but that's to be sure the forum is 1- still running & 2- link to mine. However, I never thought to check signatures to be sure they are legit. I'm going to start doing that 🙂

I think most people have a link in their signature for SEO purposes more than hoping for visitors clicking on it, although that would be a bonus. It's not as effective now a days as most forums add an REL=nofollow attribute to signature links so that search engine bots ignore them.

If it’s eye catching I will click 😀
On mobile it doesn’t show with most forums so on desktop I might click.
