Do you ever have to discipline or rebuke your staff?

Are there times when you have to warn a staff member or put them on probation for mistreatment of members or for rule breaking? What type of penalty do you impose? For instance, do you simply talk to the person and explain that what they've done is not acceptable or do you suspend their staff privileges?

I usually let them know if they are breaking a rule for mistreating their tools and then after that I impose a 30-day probation where they are stripped of most permissions and it shows them just how easily I can take their permissions away, and how quickly I will do it. I go with a 3 strike rule, one strike is a warning, 2 strikes is probation, and 3 strikes you are fired. Simple as that. 🙂

Not so far. Staff members are mature, and should be fully aware of the forum rules. If someone I worked with did break a rule, I would simply have a chat with them and try to resolve the problem.

I normally have it that if your found deliberately misusing your perms you get fired on the spot.

If a staff member is found to have not used properly I would either warn them or put them on a months probation (30 days) where they will be assessed.
