On days like today, I ponder to myself why I am here. What was I sent to do? Was I just meant to grow up after emerging from my mother's womb and just live the rest of my days awaiting the day I die? What will happen to me? I want to know if I will change people's lives. I want to know what missions I will fulfill. It's so interesting. Have you ever wondered about stuff like this? I don't fully know my true talents or if I have reached my full potential yet. I feel like life will be an uphill battle.

Yes. I have. Especially when life bends a curve and it seems like you will not get out the dark for a while, you start questioning if you are really on the right path or if you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. Sometimes, even when things are great, this question does pop up in my mind every now and then. Not very often (that is not a good sign). I just want to sure that Im fine🙂

i try not to cause then i look at here im at now and be upset lol

I try and avoid thinking about it. The reason for that is because it could make me depressed, so it's a subject I avoid.

It's a bit amusing to me that people think individuals have a purpose. Make your life.

The problem with just making a life under the pretense that you have no purpose outside of you is that everything you do is ultimately meaningless if you base your life's meaning and purpose on your works alone. Every work will come to nothing, your name will be utterly forgotten and your entire life would have accomplished nothing that outlasts you. The question that should be asked if the above is true then why bother? Many come to the conclusion sadly that there is no point to bothering which is why many end up ending their lives because they were convinced they have no purpose in life. It's easy when the life you made for yourself on your own is relatively working out the way you want it but if it were to come undone is when you realize that living life ultimately on your own terms is folly as you can't retain the drive to plow through hardship when you can't see a way through the hardship.

As for me, I know I have a purpose for my life that does not come from me and while I may not be able to always explain exactly what the plan is but I am certain God has a plan for my life which is to lead the lost to Christ, strengthen the faithful, and to find the unmet needs of others so I may meet those needs. Same goes for anyone who is a genuine born again Christian though the manner and place in which they do this may vary but the mission is ultimately the same.

A great message on the subject can be heard here if anyone is interested....

That's most definitely a mistaken generalization. I for instance have never assumed my life had a purpose, yet I've had a fantastic life and am quite happy with where I am in it. It's quite narcissistic to feel the need for a divine purpose.

In all creation even the work we do with our hands has purpose BEFORE it is brought into existence not after. Take a forum for example, a forum owner had to know and decide the genre before he or she built it. If they didn't have the genre in mind then they would have no recourse for how to build a proper forum as you would have no idea how to dress up the banner or graphics or even do a layout without the genre first. The genre in this example is the purpose of the forum. It's assumed that every forum has a genre which is why no one asks does you if your forum have a genre(purpose) because it's common knowledge that it has to have one or you wouldn't have brought it into existence. What would make anyone believe that they can give purpose to a forum when they themselves have no purpose of their own? Where would this purpose even come from in the first place as you cannot give to another what you yourself do not have?

We just visited today an uncle who lives in the province. He is living alone in his nice house and has 2 cars, short of saying that he is wealthy. When I asked why he is living alone, why not hire a housekeeper or a housemaid, he said that he will think about it. But then he added that he is 85 years old and he doesn't know where he is going to. Take note that he is very sane and far from being senile. I felt sadness in his voice especially when he said that he is trying his best to be busy all the time because he sometimes feel that he has no more purpose in life. I hope I wouldn't have that thought when I grow old.

Mostly never. I'm an atheist and I never understood things like religion, fate, purpose, or destiny. Those things don't really have any meaning to me.
