Do you only post in one section of a forum?

I post anywhere I can that I feel I can contribute something of worth. I try not to make a post for the sake of posting.

I personally prefer to hop into discussions in all available categories. Whether it be music, humor, debates.. etc.. gives me something to do and let my mind just explore all kinds of different discussions and stuff.

I feel like hanging out in the off-topic section and getting to know people can actually help you if the time comes to promote.

Yes, I am posting today in 2 sections of this forum as there are very interesting topics I found today and do not want to deviate from them.

I have done this, but mainly I just post selectively. Basically, where I see value or the ability to add value to the posts. As in I don't go into say a thread about that latest gadget or whatever to have no real input about it. Not to mention I tend to avoid chain posts as those are not usually my thing. (Chain posts I mean like, the count down thread you have here). It lessens my range of posting, but not a big issue to me.
Though I am still lurking and watching all of you closely.

If I am not familiar with the forum's niche then I most likely will only post in the off topic sections. However in very rare cases, I take the time to get to know the forum's niche and start posting in sections that are on topic. 🙂

Many times I have found myself doing this, the 'off-topic' section is normally the place I mostly enjoy on a forum.

An another question should be, "Do you also go out of your way to create topics, so that there would be a little bit more of a variety in what is available to discuss?"
