If I ever live to my 80-90s years of age, or become disabled or blind, very ill, and don't have children, or know anyone young and healthy to give my stuff to, I might sell all my stuff on eBay and similar sites to help pay for bills related to retirement like a retirement home rent, medicine, food, doctor bills, and other bills related to getting old, or so I have more money to afford a better retirement home, food, and traveling abroad if I can still walk and have good health during old age.
The only problem waiting until you are "old" to sell all of your old crap, is the fact it is old crap. Haha, so you are now in a niche market of antiques probably and could sell for a LOT or sell for pretty much nothing.
I predict my older game consoles and games would be worth thousands of dollars or more like how some classic console collector who collect Atari and Nintendo stuff sold their video game and console collection for tens of thousands or more to other collectors who have money to buy collectables.
I think Physical goods like Books, Paintings, lamps, Statues, and collectable coins would be worth more in the future since many things would be digital which don't really have resell value except to the seller of the file like Disney and Sony since they can be duplicated by copying and pasting them to another hard drive, they are made of code, and it is illegal for the buyer to resell digital files.
Plus, eBay site might be more populated in the future, and eBay do a better job of promoting sellers items better to get a higher winning bid price from bidders.
I plan to sell some of my stuff on ebay, but at the moment it is finding the time to do so. I would also like to take that stuff to a car boot sale first, because there you can haggle with buyers more. 😉
