Do you really want Obama to win the election?

I'm just wondering this. Because in a mall I went to, there was a survey of people's reason why they vote for Obama for president. And almost 2/3 the mall said that they want a first black president.

I still don't understand. Elaborate on that. I don't think Obama nor McCain would've been better presidents. Because the President has almost no power. The senate, is what we should worry about in the elections, which I don't even think we vote in. 😕

What didn't I elaborate on? I wasn't saying anything about the president's power, I was just saying that in my opinion McCain wasn't that good of a candidate.

But yes, presidents do have certain power, the power to put into law legislation made by congress, that is one part of the president's powers.
And the president has a power the senate doesn't have, the power of support, the majority of the public will agree with most of the basic things a president does, which gives him leverage.

Presidents have power, but they don't have absolute power, the ability to make any decision on their own. But they can make some on their own.

Also, the public can vote senators in, they didn't used to be able to, but they can now.

because, Bush was the main reason gas prices shot up. Bush was the main reason that the US is in teh debt it is now; not that Obama is doing anything to help. The Presidents are becoming more and more steered towards the not-so-much power in presidency than helping the country, as sad as it is.

No, but he made it worse, sorry, worded that wrong. 😉 7 trillion dollars in debt isn't the best thing to be in when we're constantly threatened towards war, etc. If some country asks for the money we owe them and we don't have it, we're probably going to end up in war.
