Do you think it is fine for people still using XP?

I'm still using my XP though. I have an old computer which is P4 Asrock andit would be very slow if its possible to install windows 7 here.

I am still using Windows XP. Major reason is my computer does not meet minimum hardware requirements for newer versions. 😀

Windows XP won't honestly lose that much compatibility when Windows XP drops full support- at least for some things.

It's fine in my eyes. my older computer still uses XP but that is also because it doesn't have the room to update to any of the other Windows software, it doesn't have the RAM to deal with 7 or even Vista I am pretty sure.

My school still has XP on all of it's computers except for one computer lab (out of 8). lol.

I don't see a problem with Windows XP right now; it hasn't dropped that much support yet.

I've never really understood reason for the Mac vs PC rivalry, both systems have their ups and downs. I have no problem working with both.

And, yes, I see no problem for people being on XP as for the most time money limits upgrades.

If I had the money I'd upgrade to Mac OS X Lion (and a new computer), but, I don't have the cash, so, I'll wait on that decision. Right now, I'm fine with good ol' Leopard. Yes, it sucks being blocked out of the few games I play (not due to the Mac's limitation, I'd prefer a console over a laptop/desktop anyways) but, thats the way the cookie crumbles.

Yes, I might not have needed to spend 1,000 dollars on a laptop, but, its the dedication that a 15 year old can save his or her money for months until they can afford something they've wanted.

Games only update platforms to stay ahead or at pare of their competitors. Ie. Game X updates its platform to support the newest computer, the computer and game X will have an advantage because it could be the determining factor in a purchase.

PC is better, I don't like Mac, so there is a Mac vs PC rivalry. I can't explain how bad Mac is, but I'll save it for all the noobs who love Mac. (Just kidding 😛 ) Well yes, there isn't a problem with using Windows XP, I bet I'm not the only one here whom misses XP, either.

I nearly slapped my brother yesterday when I found out he is using XP 😛

My sister has XP on her laptop; we got pretty pissed as it won't be supported. We might swap her, dunno yet. We might even end up getting her a better laptop. :/

I don't see anything wrong with using XP. It's a matter of what you are doing with your computer. So long as the os supports the software you are using, that's fine.

That is true. I've heard people saying that it won't be supported soon.

That is correct, but I don't think it will still be unsupported for some things, but I bet by the time it drops complete support for good, even as much as Windows 7 will probably be old. Technology and operating systems will be much advanced by then I imagine, if it keeps going steady at this point. When Windows 8 comes out, I'm not using it and I'm sticking to Windows 7. I'll always have XP in my mind for great remembrance.

Nothing wrong with people sticking with Windows XP in this generation, but in years time you have to switch to another OS when support for it ends. I've been an XP user for eight years until I had to switch to Windows 7 when I got this new laptop months ago.

To each his own. If they want to stay on XP, let them. They're choice in operating system doesn't affect me in the slightest.

I agree. Why would anyone care who is using what, it boils down to the user.

I'm still using XP. This PC came with Vista, and I was dual booting it for quite a while, until I realized that I hadn't fired up Vista in months and proceeded to wipe it.

My laptop has 7 on it..but meh. Not a big fan. Other than the color scheme, which the default on on XP is just atrocious.

So I installed a Win7 clone shell on my XP and now I'm a happy camper 😛

XP isn't that bad of an operating system, but it was even better in like, 2007 when Vista was the only operating system competing against it.
