My website achieves significant traffic through my campaign on social media channels. I try to make content that captures user engagement through visuals. I choose to use content ranging from images to videos because it attracts users instantly and I also try to embed strong action links that prompt visitors toward my site. What about you?

I know that as long as you are able to make a good presence on social media, it will help to bring more users to your page. This is what most website owners should consider when they are creating accounts on social media.

I've promoted my forum via Twitter in the past, and now a combination of Mastodon and Bluesky and, while I have enjoyed some bouts of attention my posts get in them (especially from Mastodon), I have not gotten a single member from any of them... fortunately though, I'm getting a bit of help on that aspect.

Got to build your Twitter ( X) up to be able to then pass that amount of traffic to your site. I see that hard at times. I mean if you only have 10 followers then need to build that up

Promoting on social media is worth it as long as you’re able to capture the audience correctly.

Especially by specifically engaging with users directly in your niche. If you’re just dropping links, it won’t be effective.

A lot of users don’t like to leave social media unless they find the site to be informative and interesting to them.

Utilizing certain hashtags is crucial as you can target a broader range of users depending on the platform.

Agree that social media platforms are good to boost website traffic ranking but if you have good tricks and ideas. For example if you are selling any services than linkedin can give you more traffics than other and if you are selling products and ready to market with your product image / video then instagram also help you lots than FB and other social platforms. My personal experience is FB is good for branding but not for sale while linkedin, instagram etc. can help in both.

Linkedin posts also appear on the search engines, sometimes above other website's content. Reddit's content also does too, so both platforms can be great a tool for promoting. If you have a facebook page, it's a good idea to promote your website's content on there. If there's any groups that are similar to your website's niche, you could also try promoting your website's content in there as well. However, be sure to read the groups rules and make sure they allow promotion.

Tapping into social media audience's is a great way to extend your website's visibility and reach a much bigger audience, it can also help you in regards to AI overviews as well.

You need to have a big audience I think to utilize social media to bring traffic to your websites. Work on making content on social media, keep being consistent and eventually you can start promoting your website.

The biggest challenge I notice when trying to shift people from social media to forums is that people are on social media because they want to be, and a single post is unlikely to change their mindset. Plus, there are plenty of folks on social media who probably wouldn’t be online at all if social media didn’t exist (looking at you, Grandma). So even though I often get high view counts and decent click-through rates, it’s tough to convert them into registered users. So if you found something that works, run with it.

For pure content websites, it may be somewhat easier, but it is essential to consider that social media offers numerous tools capable of replicating the content website and even replacing its monetization. Thus, it becomes a delicate balance between promoting the content and the website while navigating the challenge of driving engagement on social platforms and attracting views on the site.

While I haven't been able to get a lot of traffic on my forums through social sites, I do get good traffic to my blogs form social media. I have multiple page on facebook and multiple Twitter accounts

My Facebook page gets around 1.5 to 2 million views a month.

I owe that to creating a community and scaling native content. What I mean by native is engagement questions and text-based posts, videos, photos, and stories uploaded directly to Facebook.

If you do 90% native content and 10% promotional content, you can really utilize Facebook better.

Scale and create on social media not to promote your forum but to promote your forum name as in the brand name. Once you start gaining followers, it becomes an easier task to convert them into forum members.

This is where most forum owners fail with social. They are just posting promotional posts, and the algorithm continues to work against them for doing it.

Put your forum link in your bio and make your social page the exact name of your forum. Then try to post as much native content as you can, grow that following, and then promote.

You need visibility to drive traffic through social media. You either need a huge number of followers or run ads
