5 Easy Steps On How To Make Your Forum More Succesfull
By Terrorz of AdminBB.org

1) Patience: Its a key factor in making a forum, and if you don't have any, you might as well not start, because your forum wont go anywhere.

2) Passion: You have to have a passion for making a website, and love it. You cant just make a forum because everyone has one. You have to be really be involved in it for it to be successful.

3) Advertising: You have to have some knowledge on how to get members interested to visit/join your site, or you can just be the only member. There are many websites out there to help you in your goal to make a successful community. Thats one reason why AdminBB.org is here, to help all admins like you reach your goals.

4) Supply & Demand: You have to provide something on your forum that will get people interested and keep them coming back for more. Like ForumPromotion.net is a great example, webmasters visit it frequently on hopes of making their forums more successful, and it does help.

5) Friendliness: You have to be friendly in order to have happy members, and to make your forum have a good atmosphere. Don't be to strict on people for not following your rules. Let them know in a nice manner, and they will gladly listen to you. If you send them a infraction for something small, you are just going to loose another member.

6) Perseverance:
One of the most important factors for a successful forum. If you are the type of admin that doesn't visit his/her forum regularly nor continue an active role in your community, then your forum will most likely never succeed. A forum cannot grow on its own; the admin needs to have perseverance and actually try to build up his/her forum. Set goals for your forum, and then reach for those goals. You will definitely get somewhere.

Yea if success is just pure luck then let me make a forum. Not advertise it and stay the only member there and see if im lucky and see it becoming successful.

Don't be a retard. Of course you still have to advertise and stuff, but there are no guarantees that it will become active. It's pure luck.

This is one which is important 🙂, and about above

Its not about luck, its all about marketing and advertising and what forum you need to market on.

Very nice tips. I believe they are very strong and will aid many new webmasters.

No it's not pure luck. It's all about dedication and getting people to the site. It's not just "luck". Obviously someone has never run a forum here 😛

Thats what im saying here. Luck is just a saying not an actual reason for a forum to be successful.

Luck is of course part of the equation, but you must first stop standing in place to get lucky. If you do not keep trying to apply for a job, you are much less likely to get lucky by getting one. Likewise, if you do not keep trying to make something of your website, you are much less likely to get lucky by seeing it take off.

There are many sites out there that don't get popular yet have an admin who fits the criteria from above. Luck does have something with it, the luck that someone will happen to be looking at the right place at the right time which would happen to be at your site. It's not all luck of course, but it does play a factor in it.

Antarctic feels thats the only way to get successful which is completely bull. You have to work your butt of to get your forum up there.

I have run two successful forums, one which gained over 100,000 posts in it's first month and now has over 500,000 posts.

And another which has 40,000 posts.

I obviously know what i am talking about when it comes to running a forum.

There is no real guide to getting a successful forum. Different strokes work for different folks.

Links please. The only thing I see in your signature is a site that's been around since 2005 with only 8k posts.
