Up-and-Coming Sensation
VISIT the zoo in China's Sichuan Province and you will spot a couple of adult pandas caring for their baby in a very human-like way.
That’s because they are human.
Scientists at the Hetaoping Research and Conservation Centre for the Giant Panda have been dressing up in panda suits in an attempt to ensure the helpless youngster is not affected by human influence.
Sporting black and white outfits, the scientists are carrying out physical examinations and preparing the cub for its eventual release into the wild.
Situated in Wolong National Nature Reserve, the natural habitat is surrounded with hidden cameras to make sure the cub is constantly monitored.
Pandas are critically endangered, with an estimated 2-3000 in the wild.
The species is now completely dependent on humans for its future survival.
