Ex-Staff who get cut slack

People get cut slack all the time.. Staff member or ex staff member or not.. It happens. Not all admins are 100% fair at all times..

For me, someone that is ex-staff should follow the same rules as the regular members.

So if an ex-staff member would try and act like a moderator, that would mean he/she is going vigilante which sometimes it's worth a warning.

The only members that are allowed to apply rules to other members are the admins and moderators. :great:

Actually, I am a member of Proboards Support, and very rarely do you have a ex moderator sticking it to you. Everyone gets a warning there, no matter what, but it is only visible to THAT member, and staff. 😛

I don't know what you people are smoking.

I don't smoke, nor do I drink. And if helps my credibility, I am a virgin by choice.

Also, I believe Grievs here lives with his parents, so, if he would smoke anything beyond cigs or a cigar, I am sure he wouldn't be responding to this thread(He'd be kicked out).

Proboards support is generally an example of favoritism and staff members having their personal interests above all other items on the list. I have seen moderators generally cut slack for those they are friends with and I have even been told by a 'veteran' member that they befriend staff members just so they can get away with things.

And this so called 'vet' member was an ex-moderator who even said the ex-staff get to rule the roost, just as long, as they don't break the major rules (I.E: Spam, porn and dissing current staff). Anything besides that, they get free rule.

Now, I must hide, for G here will kick my ass for saying he lives with his parents.

Adios, I am going to hide in the microwave.

Hush you! I live with my mom 'cos she needs me.

THAT, is the epic truth.

And may I ask via you pming me which ex moderator was able to get dibs of getting a slap on the wrist, and not the typical punishment like a regular member?

They have in their rules that warnings are not to be discussed, so if an ex mod does something that warrents a warning, they still get a warning no matter if they want to discuss or not. 😛

Wait!

I know who you are now.

You're that Emu you dude, now I surely won't PM. You'll just run to the ex-mod or another mod and run your mouth off like every other person out there.

This is the Internet, I don't trust anyone, save for G and at that, it is because he knows my IP and would probably kill me if I abandon this place.

Sorry, Emu dude, no PM for you.

PBS stinks, take it or leave it.

Actually, just the opposite. Staff and ex-staff are on a shorter leash so other members don't break the rules.

The biggest ex mod who gets away with it all is storm.

I would give former staff their own group ie friends and expect them to still keep to the rules.

Once the Staff are staff no longer then they become regular members.

Sorry, but no, if I don't tolerate my staff or members breaking the rules, then why should I tolerate it from former staff? The staff should be upholding the rules and not breaching them, and that would be why they are hired in the first place. For them to do so, shows a blatant lack of respect towards your forum, and you as the owner, and for you to allow it shows bad leadership.

I've never had any issues with PBS staff, however, that is not to say that I haven't noticed cliquish behavior amongst the lower level staff such as mods, former mods, and the active older members. The G-Mods and Admins, have always been professional. If anything, I've noticed this from the staff at other hosts, however, once again, I have not dealt with this first hand, but I have seen it with others, and it was the admins who have always remained professional when these situations have arisen.
