Your Quick Review
Pros
+ First of all, your forum's layout is so much better. It's a simple layout; simplicity is a plus! Your forum has sixteen boards, and now you have managed to tone it down to eleven boards. Good work on that. Browsing the forum will be much easier to all those gamers out there. Excellent new and improved layout, I hope it benefits your forum greatly.
+ Secondly, I see you have changed your favicon like I recommended. The favicon now relates to gaming. Good work on that, a gaming controller is a great favicon considering your forum is a gaming forum.
+ Thirdly, I really like your default theme. I know I said this in the full review as well, but it's just a great theme. It fits your forum perfectly. I am a big fan of it, dark blue and black go together nicely.
+ Next, it's a real big pro that you have that an assortment of themes available. It may not seem so important, but it really is. Some people just hate dark themes, like your forum's default theme. That's why it is great that you offer a couple of light themes as well. It keeps everyone happy.
+ Finally, great work on improving the spelling, grammar, and professionalism. It seems you have fixed the mistakes I mentioned. I see you also fixed the things I pointed out which mentioned Techie. You seem to have removed Techie from your forum for the most part. There are a couple things I noticed though, which I will mention in the cons.
Cons
- First off, there's still the banner. The banner is dark. It's a bit hard to read, but it's still a nice banner. The banner seems to only match the default theme though; it doesn't seem to match the other themes. You should have a World of Gaming Forums banner to match your light themes as well.
- Secondly, I think you should do some limiting on your sub-boards. I know, I recommended sub-boards in the gaming category, but I'm not referring to that when I mean you seem to have went a bit overboard on sub-boards. The Website Administration has sixteen sub-boards. That is far too many. I think you could easily knock that down to two or three. Remember, your forum is a gaming forum, not a webmaster forum. The majority of your members are going to be gamers, not webmasters. So, it will be basically impossible for you to keep all those sub-boards active. If you can't keep them active, you don't need them.
- Thirdly, you need to fix the staff situation. I honestly don't really have a clue who is staff and who isn't. Going through the members page, it says there are four staff members. In the "Staff Online" side table, it said fords8 is a staff member. That would mean your forum has five staff members. That's too many. If not all five are staff members, then you need to edit the groups of these five apparent staff members or something.
- Next, I noticed Techie is still mentioned a couple times. In the older threads, Techie is mentioned. That is fine, there's no point in going through and editing posts, but posts in important boards like the Announcements board should have Techie changed to World of Gaming Forums. For example, in the Announcements board, there is a thread called "Teckie is Looking to Hire!" Some people will look at old posts in boards like that, I think you should either fix that or archive that. Also, in the Style Chooser, there is a theme called "Techie."
- Lastly, what's with the "||" in the World of Gaming category? It's unnecessary and just looks a bit silly. To be honest, the mentioning of "Play Station," "PSP," etc in board titles isn't necessary either. I would think that gamers would know that they discuss consoles like the Nintendo Wii and handhelds like the Nintendo DS in the Nintendo Gaming board, etc. If you want to mention the types of gaming systems, keep it in the board description, don't bring it into the board title.
Final/General Thoughts
World of Gaming Forums has potential. I am glad that you listened to the things mentioned in the full review, I hope these changes benefit your forum. Good luck!
