I think the word that describes the new layout for me is soft. If I correctly remember, the previous style had light colors, as well, but the word soft did not come to mind. Perhaps contributing to this soothing feeling for me as a viewer is the subtle background with its invigorating colors. Nice choice. Skinbox has designed some of the most pleasant styles I have seen.

Thanks for the kind words and glad to hear you like the new theme. I agree with you, the previous theme was great but it was lacking something.
