I don't know if anyone's used Google Instant yet, but it's really good. It searches as you type, working out what you want. It really reduces search times and I find it very helpful. Have you used it and what do you think?

Google Instant: ON [OFF]

It's irritating as hell. It's as if people are getting too lazy to hit enter :eyeroll:

I mostly use my web browsers search box, or highlight a word or phrase on a website and use the "right click option called "search", so Google instant does not really affect me.

Google Instant is good, but I prefer the old search.

I do too but, when I'm on Google, it does make it easier.

For those who are saying we're lazy, I'd like to point out that search engines are designed to quickly find what you want on the internet - doing it faster makes us efficient, not lazy.

Really? Actually, that's not surprising - they've not really publicised it much.

I'm 50/50 about it. Sometimes it can be helpful, but other times it gets in the way.

How does it get in the way? if you don't want to use it, ignore it.

Wouldn't this be a major problem for people with slow connections or computers? They'll want to search for something and can't because the page keeps reloading. It would take longer for them to find what they're looking for.

Seriously, when you're searching for stuff, typing it out usually takes under five seconds. I'm sure I (and most other people) can spare the very tiny moments we may save with this, because I really don't see it being more helpful than just a burden. :/

Like when you are typing for a search and there are search terms that google gives you below what you are searching for, but they don't go away.

I have to hit enter to get rid of the google suggestions so I can just display what I want.

Some of the suggestions are just creepy and strange even when typing in regular terms.

Like when I type in Attracted.

I like it. It's clever even if it only reduces search times by 1 to 2 seconds.

To those who claim it slows down their computer, that is a concern. I suppose that, if you have a slow computer, it would make sense to disable Google Instant.

Netsavy006, I haven't experienced that.
