The cord of my headsets snapped, so I guess it is time to get some new ones. I'd have to wait to get a bit of money to buy some new ones, first.
Hazy said:What is it with headsets..they never last. No matter what brand I seem to buy they always end up going in the bin sooner or later. Right now my headset microphone is only working but the earphones aren't picking up anything. Took it apart hoping I could solder something somewhere but nope, seems the cables are faulty now. Annoying!![]()

@Ashley - Yeah I only use my headset (with mic) for voice chatting really, if I'm listening to music I'll have that on my speakers etc. I never liked the earphones at all, they always kept falling out...my ears aren't that big lol
Ashley said:My ears aren't that big either. But at this time ten years ago, you could get a CD Player with a headset, and they'd be nice and comfortable no matter which brand of CD Player you got. Now you get a new player, and the headphones may have good sound quality with them, but they make those things way too big to where they're almost uncomfortable. I know a few years ago I had a JogProof CD player (one of the best ones I'd ever had... lasted 2 years!) and they came with this big headset that, if you were small like I am, you practically had to hold the headset to your ears to keep the headphones from falling off. I finally broke down one day and got a pair of earphones. Loads more comfortable than that stupid headset the player came with.
I'd use that kind of fancy stuff on a laptop, or especially if it is build in the computer. Other than that, I don't really get fancy with those things. 😉froggyboy604 said:Have you thought of using a desktop USB or regular mic, and headphones? I am using a basic desktop mic and speakers for my sound recording and listening needs for a few years now on my PC.

Yeah I know, years ago the headsets were a bit naff, nowadays I always see kids with huge headsets on listening to music as they walk past...looks ridiculous IMO lol but sure, to each their own. If you're out running yes, the earphones are the best option but I personally cannot take to them at all. Perhaps, I've yet to find a set that will suit me, who knows.
Not to mention depending where you live those headsets could get you mugged. Sure probably wouldn't happen where I currently live but I've taken late buses before where I definitely would not want to have visible headphones or any tech on, especially when some of the other passengers are smashed and rowdy 😛Ashley said:Well, most of my friends have iPods now, and as we all know those come with earphones than the actual headset. I do see kids and teens running around with those big headsets eventually, and it disgusts me, because I can never imagine how a person can stand to WEAR those flipping things. On the JogProof CD player I had, the headset was also the ones where you could adjust the part that sits on your ears, which made the headset even more uncomfortable. It's like one wrong move and the ear pieces can go so fast in any given direction... I remember there were times when I was afraid I was going to break the stupid things because they turned around so violently. It was insane and I just cannot stand those things.
Good suggestion. 😛 That might be a way to encourage you to get a desktop instead LOLGimgak said:Not to mention depending where you live those headsets could get you mugged. You got lucky. Your headset lasted for ages. 😉 You need a new one soon, though.Hiocoie000™ said:I couldn't agree more that headsets can only last for a certain amount of time, depending on their conditions when they were purchased, which shouldn't be that bad, but each headset has it differently. 😉
 Hard to imagine your headsets lasting more than a couple of years, except for that one pair you had once. 😉Snobothehobo said:You got lucky. Your headset lasted at least a year. That's a lot longer than any of mine have ever lasted.
