For all those in the USA. Here's to our service men & women who worked hard to keep our country safe!
Do any of you have plans? My husband has the long weekend so it will be nice to just get caught up on some things around the house.

We don't have plans really. We bought fresh beef from the Amish market and are grilling burgers. I had an eye appointment today, and on the way home the Amish lady had her stand on the side of the road so I stopped to warn her about the impending severe storms headed her way. And of course I bought some whoopie pies and a cherry pie since I was there. 🙂

I can't wait for Memorial Day weekend!

Not sure what we're doing but I'm thinking my girlfriend's parents will probably have us over to celebrate.

Our gas grill had a leak!! My husband is at Lowe's right now trying to buy a new one.

Remember what Monday is about, those fallen heroes who helped keep our country free. I'm not sure what my family and I are doing, but I will enjoy getting some well deserved rest.

Memorial Day over in the states is similar to our ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) day we have each year.

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders "who served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations" and "the contribution and suffering of all those who have served".

Wow! How did you find out about the leak? Some are minute whereas some you can really smell it!

I had cooked out and later went back to put the cover on and smelled gas in the area and it was coming from where the hose connects to the grill underneath. The grill is about 7 years old maybe? I can't remember really and it has been through a lot and it's time for a new one anyone, plus a new quick connect hose.

We have the grill connected to our propane tank underground, so we don't have to change out the tank. During a windy thunderstorm years ago, the grill decided to go for a walk, right off the deck!! It was brand new and still worked, but was really banged up. So we had to put cinderblocks to prevent it from traveling again as well as tying it down to the deck. The button for the ignition broke off last month, the grates are disintegrating, the temp gauge went out years ago and I replaced it twice, the heating tent thingies I replaced last year...I'm sick of spending money on this old thing.

Today we'll be putting together the new one. My husband has stuff in his pickup truck so we couldn't get a new one that was already assembled. I hate putting things together, but we want to grill out this weekend and the new hose should be here today or tomorrow.

We don't like putting things together as well lol Sometimes you can pay extra to have it shipped AND assembled at your home. We've never spent that extra money though.
Ours is on our patio & we have blocks so it doesn't move around either.
What kind of grill do you have? The grate or flattop? We have both. Grate is good for meat while the flattop is great for veggies.

It's the grate style only. I wish we had a flattop for veggies! I end up putting foil on the grates and puncturing holes with a fork for airflow.

That's how we used to do it. My husband grills year round & it just saves the mess on our stovetop. Plus we cook a lot of veggies.

What are you doing for it?

I started my garden this year, so we'll have tons of zucchini and yellow crookneck squash to cook on the grill. It's super easy and my husband can do it on his own 😀

We would have our own if my parents didn't have a huge one we help out at. My husband is the cook in our family. I'm fortunate. Well, he is as I don't cook too well LOL
