Have you been unfriended on Facebook by a relative over a difference of opinions? Do you talk in person still or is the relationship too far gone?

Yes. For some reason, my aunt didn't like that I called out her shitty parenting practices on Facebook. :banghead: Also, not really. I find her deeply unpleasant so stay away as much as possible.

Are you saying it was a win win situation?

Not unfriended but I haven't spoken to my daughter since last August, her choice, because I was upset about a marriage problem she was having and she felt I was taking her husband's side. It wasn't like that at all but she still refuses to speak to me so I am just leaving things. I have tried to make up with her but she doesn't want to so upsetting as it is I have my own life to lead and she knows where I am if she needs me.

We used to chat on Whatsapp and Facebook all the time but I never hear from her now so I guess it's like being unfriended. I have relatives she speaks to who let me know how she is so I would know if anything was really wrong and I would be there for her,

unfriended, all the time then again I do not know any of them 😛 that the true fact you add people and then you do not even get to know them till they unfriended. Same on steam and 100% of the time you do not even know till you look at the numbers

I quit using Facebook because of family drama over a decade ago. My brother and I got into it. Everyone sided with him. I shut down my account soon after and haven't use it since.

still talk to them in others methods

I personally haven't ignored my family to the point of refusing contact, though I do have an older sister that is rather judgy, and likes making assumptions on things. She refuses to talk to our mother, because she thinks our mom will go at her for the stupid life choices she makes. She also refuses to talk to a brother of ours.

Yes, I've even had one block me. My grandfather is a super Christian and keeps posting anti-muslim posts, so every time he did I found the counter statistics for Christians and posted it. For example, he posted how many people muslims have killed, so I posted the statistics from the crusades, as well as current statistics (fun fact, they're almost at the same Kill Count throughout history). I'm an athiest, I don't mind anyone who has a religion, but when you turn around and talk bad about another religion, or actively hate on someone for their belief system they worship I have a problem with it. It's hateful, and completely uncalled for. Opinions are like butts, everyone has one. But not ever wants to see yours.

Many once I came out.
It's crazy how people still can't accept things like this...

I think about deleting Facebook on a fairly regular basis, especially now with COVID and the political situation. Unfortunately, I do use it to keep in touch with a fair amount of people. I kind of miss the days where you only knew people on the surface and didn't have to see their each and every thought. Sometimes I'd just rather not know too much about people.

I agree! If my relatives would go to another platform I'd be much happier because the only reason I stay on Facebook right now is to see family members that I don't get to see in person. I get to watch their kids grow up and see their accomplishments and it's nice to have that connection. Other than that, Facebook could be gone from my life.

I don't think I've had family unfriend me (not that I can remember anyway). But I know it's something that has happened to other people.
