I've been experiencing this with my community. One of the members I banned has been trying to ruin my name on social media.

They were banned because I was an affiliate for their site, until I did research on the owner, and I no longer wanted to be partners after seeing their charges/criminal history.

I've been trying to not pay it much attention, because everything they say about me there is no proof.

Has anyone experienced anything similar? How did you react?

I’ve never had it personally but I guess you’ll always get that one disgruntled person that used to be in your community because they got banned/something didn’t go their way etc and they will try ruin the name and reputation.

The main thing is that your own community knows the truth and everything is transparent because the other person will soon look like the idiot when they go around making false allegations etc.

You can also try get members of your community to post positive testimonials about your site and on other sites (if they allow it)

Regards partnerships, will you always gonna have positive and negative about it all, I have never been into a main deal before other than affiliating with another site, but that being said if the site becomes no longer or the affiliate banner on their end gets removed I never had a big deal over it, always been good 😉

I say if it does continue you do have the right just to say nothing and get too bad and report it, I mean do not know how that would work, but I just let him continue and don't reply to him, til one day he will get bored

I'm pretty sure some of the banned try to talk smack about me and Christianity Haven, but the thing is...they've been banned from so many other sites that it probably doesn't matter. CH was their last resort mostly because we're more tolerant with less rules.

They weren't banned for their actions on my forum. I was contacted by multiple people/members after I announced the partnership that told me to do research on the person I was affiliated with, and after I seen proof of his charges(they were bad). I made a post stating we are no longer partnered with their site, and then he made up a bunch of crap, starting spreading lies on social media. It didn't really have a negative effect, because I got a lot of people that can vouch for me, and they already knew about him. I was out of the loop, I guess(in the poker world).

I have.

Mainly with people I removed from staff access. They become inactive and I remove them. Then later they get angry, demand I delete their account and posts, and then bad mouth me all over the place.

In all honesty, I typically ignore it.

If people want to jump the gun and believe them, then those people weren't friends after all.

I never had this happen to me before. I did have to demote someone on a game forum I used to have, and she did run to the Proboards support forum wanting to be unbanned from my community but the staff couldn't do anything about it. She didn't say anything negative about the forum though. I would just ignore anyone bashing my websites personally.

She knew you did nothing wrong and was trying to keep your community in good shape. Assuming you were not running the forum well, she might have bashed the way you control the forum.

No, this hasn't happened to me but I know a lot of people who bash the communities where they were staff previously, even the ones who had administrative roles.
